Chapter 3 The Handsome Strangers

As I walked behind the counter, I joined Raven and Jake as I took in the cafes occupants. There was, indeed three handsome and intimidating males waiting in line. They were all similar in height and build. About six feet tall and all had a muscular build. Â Dressed in polos and form fitting jeans, all of them had on designer shoes. The one that was standing in the middle of the three watched me intently, as I moved to the order here sign. He was definitely a hottie for sure his dark hair was slicked back, his dark chocolate brown eyes observing me like a hawk or wolf rather. I noticed he had several tattoos on his arms but didn't pay too close of attention to them as I smiled when I saw Rose with her youngest pup in tow ready to order next.

I smiled as I saw her pup Caleb squirm when he saw me move in front of them.

"Good morning Rose, what can I get for you and little Caleb today?" as I waved at the pup in front of me and he smiled and he cooed.

"Morning hon, can I get a large quad shot caramel macchiato with extra drizzle with whip?" she asked with a smile. I was amused by her order request as was Aspen."I know that's not my usual but trying to wrangle this pup as well as his siblings can be a handful these days."

"Not a problem at all," as I processed the order on the register and handed the cup with her name to Raven. "Can I get you anything else today?" I asked her and she shook her head with a smile as Caleb played with her necklace.

"No that's it for today, and Jenna wants to watch your training session this afternoon. Felix says it was okay with him but wanted me to ask you as well." She looked comical as she tried to do puppy dog eyes. I let out a giggle as I handed her change to her.

" it's not a problem she still thinks she wants to be a warrior like her father still?" I asked amused as Jenna was more interested in fashion and the latest trends than fighting.

"She looks up to you Aurora we haven't had a female warrior in so long," she stated lost in thought.

"Then tell her I will see her this afternoon," as I waved by to them and turned my attention to the mysterious strangers before me. As the one closest to me leaned against the counter with a cocky grin on his face, his brown eyes lit up with amusement. I looked down at his arm and noticed a tattoo of a black crescent moon with a sword through it. I immediately realized these were members of the Black Crescent Pack.

"Good Morning and welcome to wolfs bane café , what can I get started for you?" I responded smiling at the man in front of me.

"We will take three large dark roast coffee, with room for cream in two of them," he requested. "But ask that you be the one to prepare them and not the human." He glared over at Raven and she flinched by the sound of his voice. I felt the growl come up before everyone near me heard it.

Control your wolf Aurora that is the Beta Matteo in front of you, said Jake as he wiped down the steamer.

He started it, and I won't allow them to disrespect our humans in our territory, I snarled back.

"Careful piccolo you don't know who you are growling at", as he stood up in front of the other two wolves he was with protectively.

"We ask that you don't  disrespect the humans under our protection," I snapped back at him as I did one of his companions gasped as their eyes went wide with shock as the other started laughing.

"Enough Matteo, stop being an ass and let her make our drinks so we can be on our way to the packhouse," said the one who was now looking at me with amusement and the hint of a smile on his face.

I apologize for her behavior Alpha Xavier, your coffee is on the house as well as three muffins that are our best sellers," said Jake as he handed them a bag of muffins.

I immediately froze and calmed myself immediately, I went to the drip coffee and poured three cups of our dark roast and set them in a carrier.

Jake! Why didn't  you tell me this was the Alpha and his Beta before I made a fool of myself.

Because I was asked not to intervene, he wanted to see Matteo get put in place, he responded amused.

"Aurora will have your coffee ready soon if you can wait down there," as Jake pointed to the pickup counter.

"Thank you, Jake we will see you tonight at the pack house," said Xavier as he grabbed the bag and proceeded to the pickup counter. I grabbed the drink carrier and walked to the other counter where Xavier was the one waiting. He radiated power but waited patiently as made way down to him.

"These two have room for cream," I told him pointing to the two with green dot stickers on them. As I handed the carrier over to him our hands came in contact and felt an unexpected spark at the contact. I could feel myself starting to get butterflies and looked down to hide the blush that was forming on my cheeks. Â When I looked back up at, he had an amused look on his face as If he knew something I didn't.

"Thank you, Aurora for the coffee and don't worry about my brother he will get over it," he stated. I looked back up at him surprised by the hint of his accent, "He tends to say things before he thinks, and rare for a woman to not submit to his flirty ways." He smiled at me before handing the carrier to Matteo who prepared the two cups with cream and handed the black on to Xavier. "I hope I will be able to see you again piccolo," as he gave me one last smile.

"Have a good day Alpha Xavier," I smiled politely as he nodded his head and proceeded out the café  doors and into the black lifted ford truck.

Well that was an interesting encounter, hope that doesn't  cause issues for tonight, I said apologetically to Jake who was helping our other customers.

It won't Aurora but at least you know who we are meeting with tonight, he said clearly amused by what had transpired.
