Chapter 14: A New Allegiance

I was still in shock that I had accomplished my dream of becoming a warrior as I walked to the pack hospital to be by Xavier's side. I could feel Aspen's happiness mixed with mine as we entered the hospital situated down the road from the pack house. I checked in with the nurse in charge at the desk and was directed to mate's room. I walked in and felt my heart hurt, seeing my fearless mate injured was painful. I heard the beeping of the machines in the room as I sat down in the chair next to his bed. His abdomen was bandaged from where he was injured deep gashes from what the nurse had told me. His wounds were healing thanks to our werewolf genes and I knew that he would be awake before the day ended. I felt the exhaustion and achiness in my body healing Heath and severing his ties to the monstrous dark hunter. I brushed my hand gently down his cheek, leaning down to place a gentle kiss on his lips, "I love you Xavier." I knew that it was true even in the very short time we spent with each other that I loved this man with every fiber of my being.

"Aurora you need to try to get some rest before your meeting with the pack tattoo artist for your mark," said my mom as she walked in checking Xavier's vitals as she studied my appearance.

"I don't want to leave Xavier's side right now can I just stay here to take a quick nap?" I asked.

"If that's what you want to do, I will let doctor Asher know you will be napping in here," she said with a look of concern on her face.

"I will be okay what I did today was worth the price of using my powers," I smiled reassuringly.

"Have a good nap I need to get back to my office for my regular patients scheduled for today," she said as she left the room.

I curled up into the chair that was in the room using my own arms as a pillow as I closed my eyes drifting off to sleep.

Three Hours Later

I felt someone gently nudging my shoulder and slowly started to stir from my nap.

"Come on Ari wake up!" said a familiar voice belonging to me friend Lily.

"Five more minutes," I grumbled hearing her laugh softly.

"I was asked to escort you to the packhouse to get your warriors mark sleepyhead," she teased and I opened my eyes to see my best friend also had a large cup of coffee in her hand.

"Please tell me you brought that for me," I sat up from my position and eyeballed the cup in her hand.

"Yup and made it a quad shot for you today figured you needed the caffeine," she said handing it to me.

I glanced over at Xavier and realized his bandages were removed and all that was left were thin red lines from my brother's claws. As I sipped my latte the warmth was oddly comforting to me.

"He hasn't woken up yet but doctor Asher is very pleased with his progress and will alert you as soon as Xavier wakes up," she explained her voice soft as she saw the concerned expression on my face at leaving his side.

"Well when he does, he will be in for a huge surprise," I smiled at her and she muffled her giggle.

"Oh, what a treat that will be for the mighty Alpha," and we laughed as we walked out of the room.

It was nice being able to catch up with Lily as we walked. The café was still doing well and they found a few more baristas to help out since I left. I could tell she was longing for something but couldn't figure out what it was. By the time we reached the pack house we were greeted by Alpha Kade, and Beta Hunter.

"Come Aurora it is time for you to officially join the ranks of Silver Moon Warriors," said Kade as he motioned for me to follow him. He led us into the packhouse to a room that I knew was used for tattooing the marks that designated ranks and positions of pack members. The first scent to hit my nostrils was that it was a very sterile environment. As Nick the packs, tattooist set up motioning for me to sit down.

"Congratulations Aurora Knight on reaching the rank of warrior in Silver Moon Pack," said Nick as he prepared my right forearm.

"Meet me in my office once you are done," said Kade before leaving the room with Hunter. Lily sat down next to me watching curiously to what Nick was doing.

"Alright this will sting a bit but this is how all warriors are inked," he explained.

"I'm familiar with the special ink used for the warrior's," I replied back closing my eyes and relaxing into the chair. The ink for the warriors had small amount of wolfsbane in it to help build immunity. I heard the buzzing from the gun and the sting and waited patiently until he was done. Luckily for werewolves we healed fully within a day of being inked.

"That is incredible artistry Nick," said a surprised Lilly. I opened my eyes and glanced down at the tattoo of a dagger through a crescent moon. The small earthy details didn't go unnoticed by my friend or myself that added characteristics to the daggers hilt.

"Thought you would like it most of the warrior's have a special attribute that his tied in with the tattoo more specifically on the hilt. The moon goddess normally guides me to each wolfs unique attribute."

Explained Nick as he finished up.

"It's perfect," I said in awe I had no idea each warrior's mark had something special now I have something to observe. He explained after care instructions to me and Lily and I parted ways after giving each other a big hug and promising to hang out soon. As I walked, I felt Aspen's excitement before I realized what the cause was.

Aurora, where are you? Asked a worried Xavier.

At the pack house meeting with Alpha Kade, I will see you soon, I replied back smiling.

He is eager to be by our side, said Aspen.

Well he is in for a bit of shock when he sees our mark, I said thoughtfully.

That is true, and could feel her happiness.

I knocked on the door to the Alpha's office and was pleasantly surprised that Heath opened it. I glanced around the room elder Athena was standing next to Alpha Kade and Hunter smiled reassuringly.

"Come join us Aurora we need you to be a witness for what I am about to do," said Alpha Kade. I felt fear go through me what is he going to do?

Hunter motioned for me to stand next to him a place for a warrior to stand. I stood proudly next to my Beta's side an waited for what I had a feeling was about to be amazing to witness. 

"I Alpha Kade, invite you Heath Knight to renounce membership to Blood Moon and join Silver Moon pack." Said Alpha Kade as shock and pride filled me as I looked at my brother.

"I Heath Knight, guardian to Aurora Knight, accept your invite into Silver Moon Pack and renounce my membership to Blood Moon," he gasped as the link with Blood Moon was severed once and for all. I felt the warmth of a new pack member joining and smiled.

Welcome to Silver Moon, brother, I said smiling.

Thanks sis, he smiled back.

"Welcome home to Silver Moon," said Alpha Kade with a smile on his face.

"Thank you Alpha," said a very grateful Heath.

I was thrilled to bits we have a lot to work through to gain knowledge of the dark hunters but we just gained someone with vast knowledge. I couldn't wait to get back to the hospital to inform my mate of everything that transpired today. I knew soon I would return with Xavier to Black Crescent but for now I basked with joy at having my brother back.

I apologize for the late update I had a ton of homework I had to get done next update will be next Friday! Aurora has her brother back, Lily is longing for something any guesses as to what that may be? Let me know what you think! The next chapter is going to be epic! -JediKnight626
