Chapter 12 Surprise's

Xavier's POV

It had been a grueling five days away from Aurora and an exhausting one. We were unable to track down the mystery woman yet. According to the Midnight Coven she was using a cloaking spell to hide her true identity. I left Matteo in charge of the pack while I headed back to Silver Moon. I would be able to spend an entire day with Aurora before her warrior's exam. She was expecting me later in the day but little did she know I would be beside her when she woke up this morning. I smiled at that thought as Jake pulled up to the pack house on Pine Mountain. I thanked him quickly before jumping out of the jeep and running up the steps with my duffel bag. Aurora had moved into the room that was given to me previously by Alpha Kade for safety reasons. Zeus was eager to be close to our mate as we headed up to where she was. My heart raced as we approached the room and I unlocked the door. I dropped my bag off on the desk and noticed my lovely mate was burrowed into the blankets fast asleep. I changed so I was only in my boxers when I crawled in beside her wrapping her in my arms and inhaling her delicious scent. She let out a deep sigh and I knew her wolf realized we were back where we were supposed to be. I kissed her softly on the forehead before falling fast asleep.

Aurora's POV

I felt Aspen's excitement before I was fully awake and realized it was very warm in the room all of a sudden. I knew it was still very early in the morning and all I wanted was to sleep but Aspen had other ideas. 

Ari, wake up they are back! exclaimed Aspen.

At that I jolted awake and realized I was wrapped in Xavier's arms. I smiled and snuggled into him placing a kiss on his tattooed chest realizing that he was here way earlier than I expected. He stirred and opened his eyes sleepily at me while he stretched out.

"Good morning Alpha," I said flirtatiously as he growled lowly before trapping me underneath him.

"Teasing me piccolo," he said huskily his eyes sparkling mischievously.

"Yes, yes I am," I said sassily. "What are you going to do about it?" I challenged him feeling myself getting aroused.

"Oh, trust me I know exactly what I'm going to do," he said as his nostrils flared scenting my arousal.

"Do you now?" As I quickly wrapped a leg around his and made my move so that he was the one pinned below me. The look of surprise in his eyes was the highlight of our banter so far as I smiled shyly as I straddled his hips.

"I may have learned a few things during my training sessions while you were away," I said as I ground down onto his arousal.

"So, I've noticed you're more than ready to become a warrior and soon our mating ceremony will take place and you will be my Luna," he replied back his voice was filled with awe, as he brushed a lock of hair that had fallen into my face away. I bent down and our lips met in a passionate kiss before we could go any further my phone went off with the pack's emergency alert sound. I pulled away, and moved off Xavier and grabbed my phone to read the message.

*All pack members be alert an intruder has been spotted on our territory, stay inside and await further instruction*

I felt Xavier's growl as he pulled me protectively into his arms as he read the message over my shoulder.

"What's this all about?" I said aloud to him.

"I don't know but our morning shenanigans will have to wait," he growled before getting a serious look on his face.

I was about to protest but ended up getting an urgent link from Alpha Kade instead.

Aurora, I need you to come down to the interrogation room with Alpha Xavier and be prepared for a possible fight, he ordered.

Yes, my Alpha, I replied as the link cut off.

"We need to meet Alpha Kade down in the interrogation room and quickly from the sound of it," I said as I watched his eyes darken as his wolf was fighting to come out.

"Let's get dressed then and head down to deal with this so we can continue where we left off," he said his voice letting his irritation show. We quickly threw on clothes before heading out and down the stairs. I led the way to the interrogation room at the opposite end of the pack house. Warrior's lined the hallway and I felt Aspen quickly go into protective mode. I allowed her to take brief control to analyze the situation as we walked closer to where Alpha Kade stood.

There is a scent that is familiar to me but I can't place it, said Aspen.

I can smell it too, I replied back.

What is it that you are sensing, asked Xavier.

A familiar scent that we used to know but can't place where we know it from, I replied back.

"Thank you for coming so quickly, I hated to interrupt your morning but this couldn't wait," he said concern was evident in his eyes. He opened the door and I followed behind him as Xavier walked behind me. The scent of the stranger sitting at the opposite end of the table was comforting to me but why? As Alpha Kade moved so we could have direct sight at what we were dealing with. I gasped in shock and fear, the man sitting in front of me hair disheveled, brown eyes that matched my own, mystery tattoos on his upper arms, and wearing nothing but shorts, and covered in a combination of blood and dirt was my brother Heath.
