Chapter 5 Aftermath

Xavier's POV

I was able to catch Aurora right before she completely passed out. My heart was pounding and Zeus was ecstatic that she finally sensed our mate bond. I cradled her body close to me as I observed  pack warriors escorting the rogues into the back of a car. I watched as Alpha Kade barked orders out to those who were to keep a heavy presence along the packs border. Hunter approached me with clothes and a blanket.

"Here are some shorts for you, and a blanket to wrap her in," he nodded his head in her direction averting his eyes from her nakedness.

"Thank you," I said gratefully as he helped spread the blanket out so I could lay her down on it.

I quickly pulled on the shorts, and wrapped the blanket around Aurora and picked her back up.

"We need to get her back to the packhouse," stated a concerned Kade who had approached us with Felix. "Felix will give you two a ride back and I want a healer to do an exam an Aurora," he stated before walking over to check with Violet who now held a sleeping Colton.

"Marie is waiting for us at the packhouse now," said Felix as he motioned for me to follow him to a Jeep Cherokee. We climbed into the car, Aurora nestled into my arms, I inhaled her scent as Felix drove us away from the farm. It seemed like no time at all and we pulled up in front of the packhouse. A large multi-story rustic looking lodge with a large covered patio along the outside. An older woman with blond hair and worried hazel eyes met us at the main entrance and knew this was Marie, the healer.

"Take her to your room Alpha Xavier, I will examine my daughter there," she commanded as we quickly navigated to the room I was staying in.

I carried Aurora up to the room I was assigned and Marie opened the door so I could enter. I set my mate down on the large queen bed still wrapped in the blanker before turning to the woman.

"I will wait outside in the hallway until you are done," I said as I grabbed my phone off the nightstand.

Fratello, is everything alright? Asked Matteo concerned. (Brother)

Aurora is an earth elemental and she fainted after using her powers during the attack, I replied back.

That is news and will make for an interesting meeting tonight, he pondered thoughtfully.

X, when can we complete the mate bond, asked an over eager Zeus.

Not until after this meeting then we will complete the bond, as I could feel his happiness radiating.

"Alpha Xavier," a gentle hand rested on my arm and I jumped.

"My apologies I didn't mean to startle you, Aurora will be just fine she over exerted herself, but she isn't injured," stated Marie with warmth in her hazel eyes.

"Thank you," I said relieved to hear that my mate was going to be okay.

"She needs to rest once she is awake I will have someone bring up a cup of tea that will restore her energy and relieve any pain she may be in," before she made her way down the hall.

I watched Marie walk down and disappear down the hall before heading back into my room. Zeus and I were eager to be near our mate in case she was to wake up soon we wanted to be there. I noticed that Marie had put one of my shirts on Aurora and covered her with the blanket. I glanced over at the clock on the nightstand and knew I had enough time to take a quick nap. I sent a quick test to Natalia letting her know I found my destined mate and that I would fill her in first thing in the morning. I crawled into the bed and pulled Aurora as close as possible. I kissed her gently on the forehead as I inhaled her lovely scent and closed my eyes.
