Here is an update after a mental health break for me. Stay tuned for more updates at the end of the week. Enjoy!

I woke up to Cypress starting to fuss and glanced at the clock it was only two thirty in the morning and a feeling of dread came over me. I got up to see to my son as Xavier continued to sleep peacefully. I picked Cypress up when the first warning howl was sounded and Xavier shot out of bed. We were under attack! I quickly grabbed Cypress up and held him close to me and grabbed the emergency bag to take with me to the safe house. We were not prepared for the elemental magic to speed the healing from giving childbirth but knew it was a blessing from the moon goddess herself. Xavier was seething mad as he barked out orders via the pack's mind link connection. When he was done, he looked at me with such love, determination but under the alpha guise, I could sense his fear.

"I need to get to the safe house with Athena to help keep it secure with the other woman and children," I said to him my voice shaking with fear I tried but failed to hide.

"Go now Aurora and protect our son at all costs he is the key to our species future survival," he said as he traced a finger down my cheek before kissing me on the lips then giving a gentle kiss to Cypress's head.

"I love you, Xavier," I said as I gathered Cypress close as we stepped into the hallway that was in chaos. Heath, Delta and some of the European pack wolves were set to escort me in their human forms I knew they would shift as needed. I nodded to Heath and we quickly made our way out of the pack house to the waiting car that would whisk us down to the safe house by the lake frequently visited by humans during the summer months. I breathed a sigh of relief when Delta jumped in next me and ordered the driver to go. Cypress was starting to cry as I held him close to me and held him protectively against me as we were jostled about over the semi rough terrain. Heath and Delta did what they could to help brace us against the bumps as I tried to comfort my son.

Aurora! Trouble is coming up quick on the left, shouted Aspen.

"We have company on the left!" I shouted and linked to the wolves trailing us. I let out a loud warning growl and prepared for the attack.

"Damn it we are almost there I need to be outside with them," snarled Heath as he struggled to reign in his wolf.

"Then go we will watch over the Luna and her pup and make sure she gets into the safe house with our Queen," said the man who's name I couldn't remember but was familiar to me.

"Go Heath, Delta and the others will make sure I get to the safe house," I ordered.

I watched as Heath jumped from the moving car slammed the door and shifted in the blink of an eye clothes shredding to pieces like confetti. My senses were extremely heightened and I allowed Aspen to surface as she growled at the window where outside in the dark our joined packs were fighting our enemy. She barked out a few orders to Delta and the other warrior before she calmly crooned to Cypress who looked at us curiously but was no longer crying and fussing. She let me have control back as we approached the safe house where Athena, Brisa, Adara and my mom who were all outside ready to defend it with her warriors who were already in their wolf forms. We jumped out of the Jeep and quickly went inside the safe house where I passed Cypress over to Lily who came running up to us with tears down her face. The scent of fear was strong in this room especially from the younger pups who were unaware that such an evil existed to harm us until now.

"Where is your brother Aurora?" Lily asked on a sob as she grabbed a hold of my arm and held Cypress to her chest as he fell asleep.

"He jumped out to protect us from an attack on the road here, have faith he is a warrior hand chosen by the moon goddess, my brother, your mate and father to your unborn child. He will be here soon Aspen and I can sense he is nearby." I hugged her while she held her nephew relieved that he was in good hands for the remainder of the morning at least. I glanced around the room and made way around to check on the pack mates and reassure them that we would be okay telling them to get some more sleep.

"Luna, what will happen with the festival now," said a fearful young girl who was on the verge of tears that was laying down on a cot next to who I assumed was her mother.

"Sweet one, we will celebrate the harvest festival as planned and honor the lives that may have been lost on this night. We won't let our enemies go unpunished for this attack try to get some sleep now," as I gently tucked her into the blanket as she gave me a gentle smile in return as she closed her eyes and fell asleep.

About two hours later I was sitting near the kitchen nook drinking a cup of coffee when Xavier mind linked to me and gave me an update.

Aurora, we have them retreating into the woods out of Silver Crescent territory, we are going to check for our injured and deceased members and get the area cleaned up for the opening of the festival, said Xavier who sounded exhausted, drained and weary.

Be careful my love, I will see you later on, I'm going to stay here as backup in case another attack occurs, I said back, relieved to hear from him but something was wrong, so very wrong.

Oh, and Aurora I'm afraid Heath was taken prisoner by your father, he snarled the words father.

I snarled and growled startling everyone who was near me frightening the young pups as they cowered and submitted to a Luna.

"Aurora what's happened?" asked a very concerned Lily.

"Heath has been taken as a prisoner of war by our father Alpha Jared Knight," I growled and watched as Lily crumpled to the floor absolutely devastated by the news as Brisa and my mom rushed to comfort her. It was time to face my father once and for all and fight for the Alpha title.
