Chapter 11 Alpha Blood & Intruder

Xavier's POV

By the time we arrived back in to Black Crescent Territory it was late in the evening. I was exhausted and wanted to finish what needed to be done here so I could return to my mate's side. Zeus was being whiny and annoying and I knew the distance apart from Aurora and Aspen was painful . Five days to be precise and so much to prepare for the arrival of the packs Luna. But first to meet with the warriors Alpha Kade sent and to meet with Natalia to see how what new info we have learned from Beta Aiden. I reached into my pocket and pulled my phone out seeing that Aurora asked me to call her. I checked the time I will let her sleep a little longer my lovely mate.

By the time we arrived at the packhouse I felt my connection to the pack and felt the relief through our bond that the Alpha was home. I jumped out of the truck and proceeded to head to my office where I knew Natalia was already waiting. I opened the door and was greeted by someone barreling into me hugging me tight.

"Adara shouldn't you be with your mate instead of lurking in your Alpha's office?" I teased Lorenzo's mate her red hair flowing around her.

"I'm heading to see him now was just meeting with Natalia first," her green eyes sparkling before she let go of me and bounced out of my office.

"Come sit and we will debrief each other," said my nonna Natalia thanks to our werewolf genes she still looked like a middle aged woman who could defend herself well. Her kind brown eyes identical to mine and my mothers, her long brown hair had some blond highlights and was braided down her back.

"You got my message about finding my destined mate?" I asked as I sat down in my office chair stretching my long legs out in front of me as I watched my grandma.

"Aurora will make a fine Luna and an elemental at that is special. I understand she is also of Alpha blood is she not?" as she relaxed in the chair across from me. I felt pride knowing my mate was special and meant so much to me already.

"Yes, she is the daughter of Alpha Jared of Blood Moon," I stated as I observed her reaction to the name of our enemy. She growled lowly but remained composed as I continued. "She was banished from her pack six years ago before Alpha Kade took her in and she was accepted into Silver Moon Pack."

"Well she certainly has been through a lot she may face some animosity here but I think she will do just fine," as she processed what I said "Interesting that two pure Alpha bloodlines will cross we may be in for an amazing change for our kind," she said thoughtfully.

"What do you mean nonna?" I asked feeling very confused by her sudden insight.

"What I mean is you and Aurora may produce the one true Alpha and bring back the royalty that comes with the title. That is how things were before the dark hunters made their first appearance and made a mess of things," she said and I could tell she was thinking of a time when werewolves were led by a King and Queen. No territory disputes between packs, no searching for allies, it was a peaceful time known as the Golden Era.

"Go get some rest and call your mate, I can feel your wolfs restlessness from here," as she smiled and exited the office. I quickly jumped up and ran up the steps to my bedroom in the packhouse. I kicked off my shoes and flopped onto the bed linking to Matteo first.

Matteo I'm not to be disturbed for the rest of the night unless it's an emergency and let Lorenzo know I will meet with him and the warriors in the morning, I ordered.

Yes, Alpha, he replied back.

I grabbed my phone and called Aurora who answered on the second ring.

"What news do you have for me piccolo?" I teased her.

"Well, besides needing more control using my powers I think the knife mentioned in the prophecy is with Blood Moon," she said nervously. I felt rage bubbling up inside as Zeus growled lowly.

"Interesting, why do you think that?" I asked.

"Because I have seen it six years ago the night I was banished," she said softly. I let out a growl of frustration and anger knowing she went through something so frightening.

"Xavier I don't even know if it's still with them," she said softly I didn't need to see her to know she would have tears in her eyes when I could hear it in her voice.

"Aurora we will figure it out once you join me here as my Luna, until then focus on your training," I sighed knowing she was right.

"I did learn my mother's name was Autumn in the journal you left that's how I recognized the sketch of the knife too," she said excitedly and immediately I felt calm and excited for her.

"That is wonderful principessa," as I yawned and I heard her giggle.

"Go to sleep Alpha you need your beauty sleep," she purred. I felt Zeus purr at our mates teasing.

"I will piccolo but you're going to learn not to tease me," I said playfully.

"Goodnight Alpha," she said.

"Goodnight Luna," I replied before I heard her hang up.

I laid back on my bed and thought about everything that needed to be done in the next five days.

Alpha, we have had a perimeter breach, linked Matteo.

How many? I snapped leaping out of bed and pounding down the steps.

Just one, but the scent is obscured we don't know if it's human, werewolf, or witch, said a worried Lorenzo.

She stopped just shy of the packhouse, said Lorenzo just as I joined him on the steps.

Walking towards us was an older woman with long silver hair, wrinkly skin, she walked with a staff.

X, I think she is a witch this is not her normal appearance and her scent is off, Zeus exclaimed.

"Who are you? And why are you trespassing on Black Crescent Territory?" I ordered my alpha status coming off in waves.

"I come with a warning for you Alpha Xavier. You must be wary of Blood Moon, for on the night of the Harvest Moon they will come for her you must protect her at all costs. As for who I am you will learn that at a later time when you will seek me out," she said in voice that had authority before she just disappeared into thin air.

I growled in frustration as the warriors shifted and tried to pick up a scent to follow.

Her? She has to mean Aurora damn it.

"I want a full patrol of pack property and alert the coven we may need their help with finding this intruder," I barked out orders running a hand through my hair. No one will harm my destined mate, my queen, my Luna not on my watch. I could feel Zeus's restlessness as I shifted shredding my clothes, as we let out a loud warning howl before running to the spot where the woman disappeared scenting the air. It smelled earthy, with a hint of something burnt?

What an unusual scent, said Zeus.

I agree, I think we will join Lorenzo in this perimeter check, I stated.

Sounds good, as Zeus growled lowly.

I need four warriors to join me for a patrol of the Eastern pack boundaries, the rest of you split up in groups of four or more, make sure our pack is safe, I barked out through our pack link.

Choruses of Yes Alpha, responded to my command.

I let Zeus take over knowing his senses and urgency to protect our mate was strong. This is going to be a very long five days away from Aurora. We ran with warriors by my side I could feel their determination through the pack bond of protect our pack at all costs.
