CHAPTER 40- Date
Demi
"Okay so I've found my date." Nicko said, sitting next to me on the couch. We were at his house right now, but I'd stuck with my instincts and was living at my mom's house.
I felt my heart twist as I realized how excited he was for this, "Really? Awesome."
My tone was flat and I knew it concerned him, "Are you sure you're okay with this?"
I nodded immediately, "Of course, it's just a test. Nothing serious. What's she like?"
Nicko had an amused look on his face, "She's completely beautiful. Not a huge conversationalist but I'm sure I could make it work."
I sighed, "Beautiful huh?"
He nodded, "We might just have to carpool on the way home."
My foot slipped off of the couch and I nearly fell over, "You're bringing her home?!"
He shrugged, "It depends how the date goes. I thought you wanted us to have to full experience?"
I could feel tears welling up in my eyes at the thought of Nicko being with another woman, "I-I..." He looked at me with curious eyes and I squared my shoulders, "Maybe I'll bring whoever I choose home with me too. I haven't been satisfied in a looong time." I said, and saw Nicko visibly tense.
"Well, you do what you gotta do."
I shook my head and glared at him, "I will."
He nodded, "Good... Have you thought of anyone yet?"
I smiled evilly as an idea popped into my head, "Yup. I've got the perfect person."
Nicko looked up at me, a wary expression on his face, "Who?"
I smirked, "I don't think you really need to know that."
He smiled, "Cute, trying to make me jealous."
I shrugged, "Well it's working isn't it?"
Nicko shrugged and leaned back on the couch, "Not really. You're just being adorable and it's funny."
I smirked, "I mean I haven't been on a first date in a long time, do you kiss on the first date? Maybe I'll invite him inside, up to the bedroom where I can..." I drifted off and glanced at Nicko's face that was turning red. He let out a deep breath and stood up, his fists clenching as he walked into the other room. I smirked at his retreating back and kissed Mia's forehead, putting her into her bouncer. I stood up and followed Nicko into the bedroom and found him sitting on the bed with his head in his hands.
"Come to torture me with some more visuals?" He snapped, as I stood in the doorway.
"No, but I can if you want. If you hadn't brought up the whole 'bringing the girl home' thing I wouldn't of even thought of that. Don't give it if you can't take it baby." I walked over to him and all of a sudden he grabbed my waist and pulled me onto the bed, drawing a shriek of laughter from me.
"I know you know this, but I love you." He murmured, hovering on top of me and kissing my neck a bit, "With every single fiber of my being."
I sighed, "Then why are you talking about girls coming home?" I looked into his eyes with a worried expression, "The thought of you being with anyone else in this bed makes me physically sick."
He sighed, "I know I was just joking, but maybe it isn't such a bad idea." He peeked at me, "I mean, for us to branch out a bit. We don't have to if the date doesn't go good but I don't think we should completely eliminate the possibility. How about this." He laid to the side of me and propped himself up on his elbow, "We go on the date, and if we don't want to, we come home normally, but if we do want to we send the other a signal to not be home that night."
I nodded, "That sounds fair... But I doubt you'll get that text from me."
Nicko smiled, "Same here."
I took a deep breath, "I also think, that if we feel the same way about each other after our date, we should go on one the next night just to compare. And, I haven't been out with you in so long."
He chuckled, "That's a great idea." He eyes softened a bit, and I felt his hand slide up my cheek, "You're so beautiful."
I blushed deeply and leaned into his hand, "Thanks, you're not too bad youself."
He smirked, "You don't think I know that?"

I nervously spread my hands over my dress as Nicko walked into the closet. He was wearing a dress shirt but his tie was untied and he sheepishly handed it to me.
"You look radiant." He murmured, as I put my arms around his neck to tie the piece of fabric. "I'm not sure I'm gonna let you go one that date tonight."
I chuckled, "Believe me, I'm super jealous of the girl who gets you tonight."
He smiled, "What's the signal again?"
I hit his shoulder and he chuckled, "I'm kidding but it's just a letter 's', nothing more, nothing less."
I bit my lip and nodded, "Got it."
He looked me up and down as I went to pull away from him and grabbed my waist, pulling me into his body as his forehead rested against mine, "I love you."
I smiled and ran my hands through his hair, "I know you do. Hopefully by the end of tonight I'll be able to say those words."
He kissed my forehead and at that moment there was a knock on the door, "That'll be for me." I murmured, and Nicko already tensed, "Right, I think it's best if I stay up here. On my way home from the date I'll pick up Mia from your mom's house."
I nodded, "Gotcha... I lifted my hand and ran it through his hair, "Have fun tonight."
He sighed, "I will. Don't miss me too much." He murmured, a familiar smirk taking over his features.
I checked the time and bit my lip, "I should probably get going, see you soon."
Before I could even take a step, he grabbed my waist and pulled me against his body, sliding his hand up to my neck as he kissed me, long and full of emotion. I gripped his arms tightly and kissed him back, after a few seconds he pulled away and leaned his forehead against mine. As we looked into each other's eyes I could see the fear in his.
"Just in case."
