Demi

"Nicko are you getting this?!" I cried out, as Mia began to clumsily walk towards me across the grass in the Champ de Mars.

"Of course!" He laughed, holding up his phone to videotape the whole thing.

"My baby's walking!" I squealed, catching Mia as she fell into my arms, giggling madly.

Nicko picked Mia up and laid on his back on the grass, lifting her above his head as she laughed and clapped. "She's growing so fast. It feels like just last week I was holding her for the first time."

"I know." I fell back against the grass next to Nicko, smiling at Mia as she waved her arms and legs in the air.

He lowered Mia and kissed her forehead. "It's going to be weird when she can actually talk, don't you think? Like when she can communicate and understand us."

"It'll be soon. She can't be our little girl forever."

Nicko frowned and Mia giggled, patting his cheeks. "Yes she can. She's always going to be my little girl." His eyes cut to the paparazzi that were snapping pictures of us. "These shots are going to make them so rich."

I watched them too and my lip curled up. "They're so annoying."

He kissed my temple and shook his head. "Let's just ignore them. Besides... Do you want to hear about where we're having dinner?"

I nodded, sitting up and fixing Mia's sunhat. "Of course I do."

Nicko tilted his head back and pointed at the Eiffel Tower. "That. Is where we are having dinner."

My eyes widened. "You're kidding right?"

"Nope." He smiled and sat up with me. "You, me, and Mia, we're having dinner on the Eiffel Tower."

My mouth fell open. "Seriously?" He nodded and I leaned over, cupping his cheeks and kissing him deeply. "Have I ever told you that I love you more than anything in the world?"

'Multiple times actually." He gave me a charming smile and kissed me again. "But it's never gonna get old."

I smiled and put my head on his shoulder, kissing his neck a few times. "Good."

Mia looked up at both of us and smiled toothily as she began to stand up wobbly, using our thighs for balance. "Mama!"

My smile grew and I took both of her hands, helping her walk towards me. "I bet you think you're all fancy right now." I said, watching fondly as she giggled madly. "You're thinking you're hot shit now that you can walk."

Mia pointed towards the paparazzi and Nicko and I both laughed. "She's posing for them." He said, shaking his head. "Can daddy have a kiss babe?" Mia turned to Nicko at the sound of his voice and when she saw him leaning in she puckered her lips, giving Nicko a kiss before laughing gleefully.

"That'll buy them a new car." I growled.

"Just ignore them, my love." He kissed my frown lines. "At least they're doing it from a long range."

"I know, I just... I don't want to have Mia around this all the time. I want her to have a normal childhood."

"She's our daughter Dems, she won't ever have a normal childhood."

I fell silent, thinking about all of the things we took away from her by being who we were. Privacy was a big one. She'd never be able to make a mistake without it being broadcasted on e-news. She'd never be able to date someone without people picking apart their relationship. At this rate, she'd never have a mom and dad who were married.
