Demi
The limo ride to The Rex was short, so we didn't have the time to get too worked up. Nicko got out first, the flashes instantly raised my anxiety, but once my hand found Nicko's, it was relieved. The bouncers lifted the ropes, and the shouts of the paps were drowned out by the thudding bass.
"You want to get something to drink?" Nicko said in my ear, his hands already starting to wander over my body.
"Let's dance first." I said back, leading him to the dance floor as I moved my hips to the beat of the music that was pounding out of the speakers.
Nicko smiled and pulled my hips to his, both of us pressed tightly together as we danced. It was amazing to just feel normal, like a normal couple in the crazy world we lived in. All around us people crowded but it wasn't for pictures or autographs, everyone was just having fun.
We danced for a few songs, then Nicko pulled me over to the bar. "Vodka and tonic, and a cranberry juice." He ordered, then turned to me. "You get the drinks. I gotta use the bathroom."
I nodded and pecked his lips, then watched him disappear into the hoards of people.
"Hey sexy."
A southern accented voice made me look up and roll my eyes. The guy was tall, about Nicko's height, and to other girls would probably seem relatively attractive. "Not interested."
"Oh yeah?" He leaned against the barter next to me. "You look pretty interesting. Just one dance. I'll show you how a southern gentleman works."
I forced a smile. "I'm taken."
"I don't see a ring?"
I shrugged. "Doesn't matter. It's still never gonna happen with you."
"Let me buy you a drink."
"I don't drink."
He raised an eyebrow. "What're you a virgin too?"
Again I rolled my eyes. "I really see the whole 'southern gentleman' thing."
"I'm Adam."
"I don't care." I gave him a fake smile.
"C'mon sugar one dance."
"She said no."
'Adam' turned around and I sighed in relief when I saw Nicko standing there, a warning look in his eyes.
"What are you the boyfriend?"
"Yeah." Nicko said simply. "Listen buddy the only one she's dancing with tonight is me. I'm the only one buying her drinks. And if you couldn't tell, she's not interested, and doesn't care about anything you tell her. So back off before I have to do something that would ruin both of our nights."
"Is that a threat?" Adam puffed up his chest and got into his face.
Nicko didn't flinch. "Yes." He said simply.
Adam sized him up for a second before stepping back and walking away.
"I can't leave you alone for two minutes without you getting hit on." Nicko murmured, leaning so close to me our noses were touching.
"Please it would be the same for you."I rolled my eyes. "If you walked out on that dance floor alone within two seconds you'd have ten girls drooling over you."
"Good thing I only have eyes for one." Nicko said, smiling with a glint in his eye. He tipped the bartender, then led me back to the dance floor. This time we stood in a secluded corner, our bodies pressed together as we moved in slow circles. I didn't recognize the music until Nicko's voice blasted through the speakers.
