CHAPTER 44- Family
Demi's POV
Nicko and I walked up to the door to my mom's house hand in hand. The second my mom opened the door her face lit up and she threw her arms around us.
"It's so good to see you two together again." Then her words were directed towards me, "I knew you'd make the right decision."
I smiled and it widened once I saw Eddie walking over with Mia in his big arms, "And there's my little girl." I cooed, taking her from him. "Did you have fun with daddy last night?" Even though she couldn't understand a word I said, Mia kicked her legs out and we all laughed.
"Do you guys want to have some lunch?" My mom asked, and I shook my head before Nicko could accept.
"I think I want to spend some time with out little family today, This week we'll definintely be over though."
My parents nodded and gave us one last hug before we walked back to the car.
"So a family day." Nicko said, as he helped me put Mia in the carseat, "What do you want to do?"
I smiled, "I want to lay on the couch and watch disney movies while you shower me with kisses."
He grinned, "I think I can handle that."
We both got into the car and I saw Nicko's hand rest on the gear shifter, something he never did. I bit my lip, knowing that it was a reflex for him to put it on my thigh, or my knee when he was driving, but he was hesitant.
"Babe."
Nicko glanced over at me, "Mmm?"
I sighed and looked pointedly at his hand, "You know everything is back to normal right?"
He smiled sheeplishly and moved his hand to my inner thigh, "Sorry, I guess I'm still kind of waiting for you to change your mind."
I rolled my eyes and kissed his cheek, "That's not gonna happen."
He furrowed his brow for a second, "So who did you end up going on a date with?"
I bit my lip, knowing he would get angry, "Well that's not really important now is it?"
Nicko rolled his eyes, "Demi."
I shrunk in my seat a bit, "I'm gonna wait until you're not driving to tell you."
His grip on the steering wheel tightened, "Was it Wilmer?"
I sighed, "No it was not Wilmer. Why the hell would you think I'd go on a date with him? Let alone be in the same room as him?"
Nicko shrugged, "I don't know. It just came to mind. Why else would you be afraid to tell me?"
I smiled, "Because I thought it would make you the most jealous."
He looked at me, "Why would you try to make me jealous? I was jealous enough as it is."
I sighed, "Because kept going on about this girl you were taking out and how was I supposed to know that you were taking Mia out?"
He looked at me with an amused expression, "Okay so who was it?"
I bit my lip and shook my head, "Nope."
He sighed, "Fine. But you're telling me when we get home."

"MICHAEL? THE FUCKING YOGA INSTRUCTOR? REALLY?" Nicko shouted, and threw his hands into the air.
"Nicko it meant nothing!"
"You went on a date with him!" He was guestering like a mad man and I sat down on the couch with a huff.
"But it meant nothing."
Nicko paced the room, "It doesn't matter what it mean to you! You were on a date with him! I told him to stay away from you!"
I sat back in my chair, "Nicko."
He look at me and sighed, sitting next to me, "I'm sorry. I just... I don't like to share."
I smiled a moved my feet on top of his thighs, "I know. But eventually you'll have to. Even with Mia, she'll eventually grow up."
We both looked down at the tiny sleeping baby in her carrier as Nicko let out a groan, "Don't even talk about that." He leaned down to pick her up and held her in the center of his chest, "She's going to stay my little girl forever."
I rolled my eyes and smiled at the two of them, "I don't know about that. Someday her prince is gonna come along and sweep her off of her feet just like her daddy did with her momma."
Nicko smiled up at me, "So I still got it? I still woo you? And sweep ya off your feet?"
I giggled and leaned forward, pressing my lips to his, "Every day."
He gently put Mia back in her carrier and pulled me across the couch so I was straddling his lap, "We sound like an old married couple."
I bit my lip, "Yeah."
Nicko chuckled and leaned our foreheads together, "Alright. I promise, that one day, I will ask you to be my wife."
I smiled and kissed him again, "And I will be anxiously waiting that day."
Nicko laid back on the couch so I was between his legs as we watched Mia sleep. His arms were wrapped around me and every now and then he would lean down and kiss my forehead lightly.
"You know," I mused, "I never really understand why you talk about living in the moment." I leaned my head back to look at him, "Now I do. I could stay in this moment with you for the rest of my life and be perfectly content."
~*~
Later that night, as I was rocking Mia in a chair and singing her to sleep, I looked up to see Nicko standing in the doorway witha huge smile on his face. I motioned for him to be quiet at Mia's eyes were slowly sliding closed, and finished the song, then gently laid her in the crib. As I stood back up, Nicko's arms wrapped around my waist and we stood there watching Mia.
"What's on your mind?" I murmured, as he kissed my cheek.
"I love my life." He said simply.
"Really?" I giggled, and leaned into his chest, "Why's that?"
He chuckled, "I absolutely adore every second of it. I just watched my absolutely gorgeous girlfriend sing my beautiful baby girl to sleep, and now I'm about to go take you to bed with me and show you how much I love you."
I smiled softly and turned around in his arms, intertwining my fingers at the back of his neck, "I love you too."
Nicko sighed and cupped my cheek, "I love you more."
I shook my head, "If you start this again you're definitely not getting any tonight. So drop it and agree that we love each other equally."
He grinned, "Alright alright, you win. Now c'mon, we only have a few hours until she wakes up again."
I smiled and took his hand, walking into the bedroom with him following me. The second I laid down, I was overcome with a wave of exhaustion, and Nicko kissing on my neck wasn't turning me on at all. I tried to get into it, but just lifting my arm was a struggle for me.
"You're not in the mood tonight, are you?" Nicko murmured, pulling away slightly and looking into my eyes.
"I'm just tired." I whispered, and felt my eyes began to slide close, "So tired."
Nicko wrapped his arms around me and held me to his chest, "So sleep. It's okay I don't need sex to survive. I like holding you just as much."
I smiled sleepily, "I love you baby."
He snuggled into my neck, "I love you too Demi."
