Demi
Things were finally starting to slow down, my appearances with Labrinth were done, and Nicko had finished his at-home studio so he didn't have to leave to go into the city all the time. It was nice to be able to sit down with Nicko's mom and have dinner together. We finally felt like a family.
I was making Mia's lunch when I heard footsteps behind me, and smiled when I felt arms wrap around my waist.
"Hi." Nicko murmured in my ear, pressing his lips to my neck.
"Hi baby." I giggled, leaning back into him. "What's up?"
"I wanna get away." He said, turning me around pressing his body against mine. "Let's go. We'll take Mia and my mom with us. Let's just go. Paris, Rome, it doesn't matter."
"Slow down." I laughed, cupping his cheeks. "What's this about? Your mom is recovering from a broken hip Nik."
"I just want to go somewhere." He murmured, pressing his lips against mine. "With you."
"Babe your mom is recovering from hip surgery. She can't go to another country."
"Then I'll get a nurse to look after her here. Let's get on a plane." He started kissing up my shoulder again and I pushed him away gently.
"What's going on?"
Nicko shook his head. "Nothing. I just want to go on a trip with the most beautiful woman in the world. Is there something wrong with that?"
"No..." I smiled and shook my head. "Fine. Let's do it."
He grinned. "Good. We leave in four days."
My mouth fell open. "You had it planned the whole time didn't you?"
Nicko shrugged innocently. "I figured asking would be better than kidnapping you to Paris."
"Paris..." I mused, then my eyes flashed to his face. "What are we doing in Paris?"
He smiled. "Things are going to start getting crazy again. We're both working on albums and that means promotions and tours. I want time with you, away from everyone else, where we can just be with Mia alone."
I sighed, my hopes of a proposal draining. "Then let's go I guess."
"Great." He pecked my lips. "Let's start packing."

"A private jet?" My voice rose through a few octaves as I stared at the plane our driver had pulled up to.
Nicko chuckled and kissed my temple. "It's just a comfort thing. You know Mia doesn't do good on planes."
We walked onto the plane, said hello to the pilot, then sat down for the long flight to France. Mia was, thankfully, already asleep, so I sat with Nicko, my legs draped over his.
"So what is this really about?" I murmured, swiping my finger down his nose.
"What do you mean?" He whispered, a soft smile on his lips. "I told you why I want to do this."
I shook my head and pulled back a bit as he tried to kiss me. "No, that's the reason you gave me to get me on the plane. Now I'm here and we're about forty-thousand feet off the ground so now you can give me the no-bullshit answer."
Nicko shook his head. "You don't miss much do you?"
"Nope." I smiled and pushed his hair back a little bit. "How long am I losing you for?"
He broke our eye contact and looked down. "It's not that Demi. I promise I'm not going anywhere until my mom's better. It's just..." Nicko shook his head and looked up at me. "I still feel guilty for the whole video-thing. I want to make it up to you so I'm trying to make this whole trip special. I want us to be away as a family, but it's more of an I'm sorry."
