"I don't think I can have another one," Kate said, puckering her lips from the alcohol.
"Me neither, I'm glad I have a guide to get back home," Fiona leaned her head on her hand.
"Me too," Kate shouted.
Jacob shushed her, jokingly, "You are home and your son is sleeping."
"Oh right. I live here now. This is my home, huh?"
"I like what you did with the place," Fiona got up to admire the undecorated home.
"Here is where we didn't paint the wall," Kate giggled uncontrollably. "And that couch was here when we moved in."
"We forgot our shots… where are they?" Fiona went back to the table drunkenly reaching for the empty shot glasses.
Tom and Jacob were laughing about something from work, Fiona couldn't make anything out. She reached over and poured the coconut rum into the glasses.
"Kate, I like you," Fiona handed her the shot. "Can we be friends?"
"I don't have friends. I'm a mom now. I'm not fun," she pouted and took the shot.
"Babe, you're still fun," Jacob said from the dining table.
"Babe, you're still fun," Fiona copied.
Tom shook his head at Jacob, "Fi, we should head back. You're properly pissed."
Fiona looked down, "I keep forgetting he's British! I thought I peed my pants."
"Yep, you're pissed," Tom gathered Fiona's purse and cell phone. He shook Jacob's hand before scooping up Fiona to take her back to the hotel. She hugged her new best friend, Kate, and then Jacob too.
"I like them," Fiona said as their screen door slammed behind them.
"Right, Jacob's my best mate," Tom pulled Fiona close as cars zipped down the street. It was only a few blocks to the hotel, "Love, do you still want to marry me?"
"Yes," she snuggled into his arm. "At some point, not like tomorrow."
"What do you love the most about me?" Tom was definitely taking advantage of her drunken state.
"That you're so motivated. Like working in the desert, in the blazing heat, no thank you," Fiona shivered from the horrifying thought. "Maybe for like a million dollars but only maybe."
"What about a few more than a million?" Tom laughed.
"What?" Fiona turned to him. "Really?"
"Babe, what did you think?"
"I don't know, I didn't think about it. That's insane," her eyes blinked blankly. "Deserving, yeah, but still."
"That's why I love you," Tom tripped over his own feet as he kissed her cheek. "You're impressed with everything."
"That makes me sound like an idiot," Fiona shouted, but was smiling.
"No, no, I didn't mean it that way. You're just different. You just see me going to work, not like someone making millions on playing pretend."
"I met you getting coffee. That's how I see you. This way too attractive guy getting coffee who I want to notice me but also who I'm terrified will notice me."
"Yeah? You mentioned that during your appendix," they rounded the corner at the intersection, the hotel just up ahead.
"Like, everyday I'm glad I went back to that place and you talked to me. If you didn't, I wouldn't have gone up to you," Fiona shook her head. "You are intimidatingly sexy."
