"Tom, how are you?" A brown haired girl put a hand on Tom's back and gave him a hug. She looked familiar but Fiona couldn't quite place it.

"Charlotte," Tom smiled. "Happy Christmas, how are things?"

Fiona stood with Tom's parents who were discussing the Christmas menu and what they could prep the day before.

"Don't worry, love," Tom's mom said quietly to Fiona.

"Oh," she didn't realize it was obvious that she was staring at the interaction. "I'm not."

"Good, dear," she rubbed Fiona's back reassuringly.

"I would love to help out with whatever you need," Fiona turned her focus to his mum, chiming in about the Christmas baking and roasting.

"That would be wonderful," she said. "I'm going to be making the pies tomorrow if you want to come by in the afternoon."

"Perfect," Fiona smiled.

Tom chatted with Charlotte, the two laughed as they reminisced. Charlotte's hand was on Tom's arm the entire time. Fiona bit her lip, feeling a sense of jealousy wash over her.

"Happy Christmas, Charlotte. How is your family?" Ann asked, stepping between the two. She shot Fiona a comforting smile.

Tom looked back at Fiona and winked, reaching out for her hand. Despite all her efforts to hold back a smile, it was as if her lips had a mind of their own as they turned upwards in the corners. Giving into him, she extended her hand and rolled her eyes. Tom took it and pulled her close, putting his arm around her as if claiming her as his.

"What?" He whispered.

Fiona shook her head, her lips tightened. "Nothing."

He kissed her cheek.

"You must be Fiona," Charlotte said sweetly, the corner of her eyes creased. She had an angelic smile that Fiona couldn't help but trust. "I'm Charlotte. Tom told me about you, it's nice to meet you."

"Oh?" She looked from her to Tom.

"Oh, good things don't worry," she said. "How are you liking London? It's lovely during the holidays, yeah?"

"Yeah, it's so festive and everyone is so friendly," she said amazed at how everyone smiled at one another and wished them well. New York was quite the opposite. Even in her small town of only a few thousand people, everyone tended to ignore others.

"I love all the lights. Doesn't feel quite like Christmas without them," Charlotte said, looking around the crowd. The Iights above them flickered, meaning intermission was ending. "I better run, have a great Christmas though, yeah?"

Charlotte gave both Fiona and Tom a hug before darting over to rejoin her family back at their seats. Fiona followed Tom's parents to the side entrance, she looked back to see Tom still standing where she left him.

"Tom?" She called back to him. Once he saw they were 10 feet in front of him already, Fiona turned to continue ahead of him. The three of them filed into their seats, a moment later Tom squeezed himself between his mom and Fiona.

He reached over for Fiona's hand on the armrest. She was annoyed with him, but let him hold it. The silent treatment was her punishment, rather than getting upset with him in a public place. Almost sensing the tension, Tom's mum raised her eyebrows at him. He shrugged back at her.

Fiona's eyes were on the stage in front of them but her mind was wandering all over. She tried so hard to not be a jealous girlfriend, but Tom didn't make it easy. He was always a flirt but the long lingering looks at Charlotte is what worried her.
