Fiona hadn't had much time to webcam with him the last few days. They spoke briefly over the phone but Fiona's schedule was ever changing and they just didn't match up a lot of the time. They caught up briefly the night before, but Fiona was too exhausted so Tom let her get some sleep. He then turned in early too.

It was almost 8am and Fiona should have been on her way to work by now so he sent her a quick text..

Tom 7:42AM: Good morning, love. Hope you have a good day. Love you

He turned the volume up as he walked Woody around the apartments in the chilly southern morning air. It was after 8 by the time they got back to the house, Tom jumped in the shower, leaving his phone on the sink close by. He was looking forward to her good morning text that they sent each other every day.

After make up and wardrobe, Tom checked his phone again but still had no reply from Fiona. He rang her a few times, hoping she hadn't missed her alarm and was still sleeping. After several calls he figured he did what he could, she could use the sleep if that was the case.

Tom finished up early and checked his phone. It was almost 3 and Fiona never replied to his text from this morning. Tom wasn't sure what to think, he was worried about her but also angry. He rang Fiona's phone but there was no answer. He threw his phone hard against the wall of his trailer. Woody was startled and ran to the other side.

"Oh I'm sorry, boy," Tom said sitting on the floor. "I bet you're hungry. I bet you're hungry for tissues though, huh?"

Tom fed Woody some kibble and then took him for a nice long walk. Tom smoked more cigarettes than he should have on that walk, he was mostly contemplating his relationship and what it may have been dissolving into. All thanks to Jessica, he thought.

He called Fiona again, but still no answer.

"Hey Fi, I hope you're ok. I'm not sure if I should be worried. Please call me. Whatever happened, just call me."

When he got back home, he paced back and forth. Besides him being worried she was cheating on him with some dad, he was also really worried she was hurt. Or something even worse. It was almost 6 and not even a word back. He wondered if he should call the police. He had the local state police typed in his phone, he was just waiting to press send.

Finally Tom got a Skype call as he was staring at his phone. He picked up on the first ring.

"Are you ok?" He said as soon as it connected.

"Yes yes I'm so sorry! I left my phone home, but Mariah was so sick I couldn't leave her. I'm sorry! How are you, how's Woody?" She said all in practically one breath.

"Oh. Well good I was really nervous. I had the worst thoughts running through my head," Tom confessed. He let out a sigh of relief and sat on the floor with Woody. She looked tired, her hair was in a loose bun.

"No I'm ok. Mariah had a fever all day. The doctor said to monitor it, we're just hoping to not have to take her to the ER."

"We?" Tom asked, trying to not sound defensive.

"Ya me and Mike. Mariah's dad. He legit is the worst at taking care of his kids. I don't think he ever had to before. They always had Leanne home," her phone was propped up in her bedroom but she was shouting from off view somewhere.

"Wow. He sounds like a wanker. At least he has you," there may have been a hint of jealousy in his voice.

"No! No he's great, he wants to learn he's just scared of making the wrong decisions. And with her fever, I don't blame him for wanting help," she said a little defensively. She walked back into view with a handful of clothes.

"What are you doing?" He asked annoyed. Throughout the call he only saw her for a few seconds walking back and forth in front of the camera, not talking to him but rather at him.

"I'm packing some clothes. I'm going back in case he has to take her to the ER. That way he doesn't have to lug Megan too," she said as if he should have already known that.

"So you're going to be sleeping there?" Tom asked.

"Yes. I just said that!" She shouted.

"Why can't he just call you if he needs you. I think there's another reason you're going there," Tom said and then regretted it. He didn't want to start a fight.

"What are you talking about," she threw her things on the bed and stopped for a moment to sit and talk to Tom.

"Nothing, nothing. It's fine if you go," he said. He stood up and walked into the kitchen for a drink.

"I'm glad it's fine because I wasn't asking you," Fiona was sometimes snippy with him but mostly about stupid arguments like leaving the milk out, or if she thought he was reading over her shoulder but her tone was harsher this time.

"That's not what I meant. Don't mind me. I'm just your boyfriend who hasn't heard from you all day and now you're going out again to sleep at some guy's house."

"Wow," she nodded, "it's not like that and you know it. Oh wait where's Jessica? Because I feel like we had a similar conversation a few weeks ago."

"It's not you, it's him. Who is this guy?" Tom's voice got deeper when he was angry.

"He's this sick little girl's DAD.

"Maybe you're already sleeping with him," Tom shouted through the phone.

"Yeah. Maybe. I gotta go. Also, you're fucking scaring the dog," Fiona hung up the video call.

Tom almost slammed his glass into the counter but he turned to the dog instead. So far Woody had seen Tom lose it twice and that was more than enough.

Fiona was fuming. How dare he question her? The dad was attractive for an older guy, but Tom had no idea what he even looked like. He also had no reason to not trust her and that's what really bothered her. She never accused him of sleeping with Jessica, when it even looked like a highly logical conclusion. She always gave him the benefit of the doubt, and he instantly went to accusing her.
