A Little Rest a Lot of Plans and a Little Boy

     After a good night's rest, Mo Yuan called Zhe Yan and Bai Qian into his office.  After Chang Shan brought tea, he set about telling them his plans.  "I wanted you both to know the reasons why I am here today.  First I want to address Bai Qian.  I have asked her to be my wife, Zhe Yan.  Can you negotiate with her father for me?  I will write a missive to him but I want you to hand deliver it and bring me an answer today.  Will you do that for me?"  The look on Zhe Yan's face was worth all the tea in the four seas and eight realms.  "Xiao Wu, did you say yes?"  "Yes I did you old phoenix!"  "Well then!  I will carry that missive as soon as you write it.  Now what's the next part?" 
     Mo Yuan told them the whole story.  "Mother was pregnant with twins when the pillars fell.  She was injured and ended up giving birth to us early.  I was born first.  My twin was born last, but he didn't survive.  Father was heartbroken and took his little soul and placed it in a fetus that he created using half of his own power.  He placed his fetus in that golden lotus that sat in the lotus pond here.  When he died, he passed him to me and told me to watch over him until such a time as he was to be born.  I fed him energy every day and talked to him.  Sometimes I played the quqin for him.  He stayed dormant until I gave Shiqi the task of caring for him.  The first time she ever touched him, he glowed and sent out a spray of energy.  I'm assuming he liked her.  You told me that Lady Le Xu touched the lotus as it was wilted and the glow entered her.  You now know that Ye Hua was born.  He is my twin and I intend to go get him.  I refuse to let him be raised in the coldness of the nine heavens!  I am going to send Dijun a message asking for his support also.  Today I will meditate.  Tomorrow morning we leave.  Can you stay here Qian Qian while I am in my cave?"  "Yes, I will help my brothers with the guests."  Mo Yuan wrote the messages and sent Zhe Yan with the one to her father and Die Feng with the message to Dijun.  He hugged and lightly kissed Qian Qian and went into his cave. 
      Zhe Yan returned that night with an answer from Bai Qian's father.  He was overwhelmed by the offer and gave a very positive answer.  One blockade down with plans to make.  They only needed to hear his plan to take Ye Hua.  Many guests were entertained that day and Bai Qian was tired.  Zhe Yan sent her off to bed and followed shortly after. 
     Mo Yuan left his meditation cave early that next morning.  He was sipping tea and getting ready when Zhe Yan knocked on his door.  "Enter", he said.  Zhe Yan handed him a missive from Fox Emperor Bai Zhi.  "I think this will make you feel better!"  Mo Yuan read it and broke out into a grin.  "She's mine, finally mine!"  "You better read the whole thing though.  The nine heavens are trying to claim her for the second prince, Sang Ji.  Bai Zhi prefers you over them.  Be prepared for a set to when you meet HaoDe."  "I'm not worried.  My proposal was first wasn't it?"  Mo Yuan looked a little worried.  "Yes, yours was first.  Theirs is being rejected as of last night.  How do you feel today?"  "I actually feel very rested and my power level feels fine.  Where is Qian Qian?"  "After 20,000 years on this mountain with you, you should know by now that she sleeps in every morning!"  Zhe Yan was laughing as he poured more tea.  Mo Yuan laughed and headed out the door to awaken Qian Qian.
     She was under her cover.  He couldn't tell where she was until he raised the cover and the shock hit him.  All he saw was a white ball of fur.  He threw the cover back and marvelled at her luxurious fur.  He rubbed down her back and fluffed each one of her glorious tails.  She started to stretch and rose up to greet him.  He patted his lap and said,"come here."  She carefully crawled up and put a paw on each shoulder.  She licked his chin and he could have sworn she grinned!  "We must leave early.  Do you wish to stay here or go with Zhe Yan and I?"  She transformed and was still in his lap with one hand on each shoulder.  "I wish to go with you to get Xiao Lianhua.  Is that ok?"  She kissed his bearded chin.  He smiled and hugged her close.  "Yes, you may come with us.  Be warned though.  It's not going to be easy."
     They went to the great hall to eat breakfast and make plans.  Die Feng would also go with them.  It was decided to meet Dijun first.  Then Mo Yuan would seek a meeting with Ye Hua.  After that, to the throne room to make demands.  They arrived at the gates of the nine heavens right when thunder clouds were building overhead.  He knew those clouds.  Someone was undergoing an ascension trial.  He hurried to Dijun's Taichen palace.  Dijun was about to leave when he met Mo Yuan and his entourage.  "Come with me and be prepared for trouble!"  They hurried to the ascension platform.  Mo Yuan's anger was building as he saw the little boy standing there waiting.  He went to stand by HaoDe and demanded to know what was going on.  " Just what the hell is going on, HaoDe!  He's just a child!"  The first strike hit.  Ye Hua stumbled and stood up.  The next two strikes came in quick succession.  Ye Hua was lying on the ground.  Mo Yuan ran over to him and gently touched him.  The glow came upon him and he rose up as his energy level went to high immortal.  Mo Yuan scooped him up and held him close.  "I want to see my mother.  Just let me see my mother!"   "OK then.  Point the way.  I'll carry you," Mo Yuan said softly.  He strode off the platform holding the boy as close to him as he could. 
     Yang Cao ran after Mo Yuan and Ye Hua.  "Just what is the meaning of this, High God Mo Yuan!  You have no right!"  Mo Yuan's rage was building with every step he took.  He held the boy close and turned toward the man.  His voice was low and the anger was oozing off of him like water.  "I have every right!  Now get out of my way before I knock you down!!"  He brought Ye Hua in to see his mother.  Le Xu took one look at Ye Hua and started to cry.  His robes were in tatters and he had wounds all over his little body.  She held him close and looked at Mo Yuan carefully.  "Why are you here, High God Mo Yuan?  What happened?"  "I have come to retrieve my brother and as you can see it is none too soon.  Just how long has it been since you saw him?"  "I haven't seen him since he was born, High God.  HaoDe took him away from me.  Did you say he is your brother?  How can this be?"  Mo Yuan was furious.  "You mean to tell me this child has no interaction with you at all?  Where has he been?"  Ye Hua tugged on his sleeve as he looked up at Mo Yuan.  "I've been studying under my masters.  Grandfather says mothers are the ruination of their sons.  Who are you and why did you pick me up?"  Mo Yuan squatted down to be on his level.  "I am here to take you back to Kunlunxu with me.  You see, Ye Hua, you are my twin brother.  I'll explain it to you in more detail later, ok?"  Ye Hua nodded his head and held onto Mo Yuan's hand.  Mo Yuan looked once more at Le Xu.  "I'm told you touched the golden lotus that was in my lotus pond.  Is this true?"  She only nodded.  "That lotus was Ye Hua.   Father put him there after he died because mother couldn't sustain us any more.  He rescued his soul and created a fetus for him.  He placed him in the lotus.  When he died, he gave him to me to nurture until such a time for him to be born.  This happened after I died.  I have come to take him home.  Do you have any objections?  You will be able to see him any time you want.  You will have no restrictions placed on you whatsoever."  "No, I have no objections.  I will come when I can to see him."
     Mo Yuan walked out with Ye Hua holding his hand.  Dijun, Bai Qian, Zhe Yan and Si Ming, Dijun's aide, were waiting for him.  Dijun stepped forward.  "You have caused quite a stir, brother.  HaoDe is beside himself with anger and worry.  I suggest we go to the throne room now."  Mo Yuan picked up Ye Hua and carried him the whole way.  Many immortals were present as well as many leaders who had come to see the trial.  As Mo Yuan walked, Ye Hua noticed everyone bowing as he went by.  No one looked up until he passed.  His little mind was churning and he realized this man commanded respect and no one dared cross him.  He was satisfied that he was safe from punishment as long as this man held him.  He decided he liked him very much.  Mo Yuan marched straight into the throne room without fanfare.  HaoDe was still angry and it showed.  He stood and addressed Mo Yuan with no respect or honor.  "Just who do you think you are marching into the nine heavens disrupting our ceremony and snatching this child away from me and his father?"  Mo Yuan set Ye Hua down and put him behind him.  Bai Qian walked up and put her hands on his shoulders as reassurance.  "I'll tell you who I am, HaoDe!  I am High God Mo Yuan, son of the Father of Gods and only heir! Today, I have come to retrieve my only living blood relative, Ye Hua!  He is my twin brother.  I claim custody by blood.  Who are you to stop me?  I'll destroy this whole room and you in it if you try to stop me!!  Do you understand, HaoDe?!?"  A hushed silence had fallen over the throne room and then a low murmuring.  Ye Hua was afraid and he held on to Bai Qian's skirt.  Mo Yuan turned to smile at him.  "If no one can think of a reason to stop me, then I will be leaving with my brother.  Come, Ye Hua, let's go home!"  He turned around, took Ye Hua's hand and walked out of the room.  They went straight to his room to get his clothes and things.  Mo Yuan was struck with intense sadness when he walked into the little boy's room.  There were no toys, nothing that a child would play with.  Only books and scrolls.  "Get what you want to keep, Ye Hua.  I have a whole library at Kunlun, so you won't really need your books unless there is one you want."  Ye Hua ran over to his shelf and took one little child's book.  He got his sword and a jade carving of a dragon that his mother sent to him.  "I'm ready."  Three things.  Three things that were important to a small boy.  Mo Yuan felt his anger rising to new heights as he looked around.  The sadness overwhelmed him as he thought how pitiful this child's life had been so far.  He picked him up and hugged him closely.  "You will always be loved by me, Ye Hua.  Da ge will always be there for you.  I'm sorry you had to wait for me and go through such hardship.  Things will be better, I promise.  Are you ready now?"  "Yes, Da ge, I am."  Dijun walked them to the gate to talk to Mo Yuan.  "Don't think this is over.  HaoDe will demand proof.  Take him and secure him.  Lock the mountain down if you have too.  Just give him a better life."  Mo Yuan nodded and they left for Kunlunxu. 
     When they touched down at the entrance, Ye Hua was spellbound by the beauty, power and majesty of his new home.  He held tightly to Mo Yuan's hand as the disciples ran forward.  "Shifu!  Is this our new brother?"  They all asked at once.  Ye Hua was shy and he clung to Mo Yuan's leg.  He squatted down to talk to him.  "These young men are my disciples, Ye Hua.  I'm their teacher.  I wish to be your teacher too.  Why don't you go with them and get acquainted.  Once they have shown you around, you can have Die Feng bring you to my study.  Ok?"  Ye Hua nodded and was quickly ushered off to see the mountain.  He went to the great hall and literally flopped onto his dais.  Chang Shan brought tea and snacks for them.  Zhe Yan laughed and toasted Mo Yuan with his tea.  "You really put the fear in HaoDe.  He named Ye Hua to be crown prince when he was born.  Wonder if he will retract that now."  "Let him try!  Ye Hua is the only legitimate heir and he now knows it clearly.  I will write the whole story for Si Ming to record.  Let him try to erase that!"  Bai Qian could see that Mo Yuan was still very angry.  She went and sat close to him and touched his hand.  Even though his anger was riding high, his eyes softened when he looked at her soft eyes and beautiful face.  "Like a thousand suns shining in the east", he thought to himself.   "Why don't you let Ye Hua stay with me in my room tonight until you can get quarters ready for him near yours?  I know I was really scared the first night I was here.  Is that ok?  It seems to me he needs a little feminine touch in his life."  "Excellent idea, Qian Qian.  I'll get the boys on making him a set of rooms right away.  He's been through a lot today.  Did you notice that he never complained about his wounds?  I will tend him myself after they bring him back.  I still can't believe that he only brought three things with him.  That broke my heart.  Three things."
