The next morning after breakfast, Mo Yuan broke out a particular box of his old daily journals.  He was going through it when Ye Hua knocked on his door.  "Come in, Didi.  I was just going through some of my journals.  I'll leave them here if you wish to read them, or I'll send them to your study."  "Send them to my study please.  I'll read them there."  Ye Hua shuffled his feet with his head down for a moment.  "Is there something else Didi?"  "Da ge, am I really as old as you?"  "Well, yes and no.  Your primordial spirit and your soul is as old as I am because we are twins, but your body is not.  That's why sometimes you act like you are a lot older in mind but not in body.  Understand?"  "Yes, but I don't feel old."  "Neither do I, but I am!  Now off with you!  I have correspondence to read through."
Ye Hua started reading through Mo Yuan's journals right after lunch.  Most of them just covered every day things of school and what he had learned that day.  It's when he got to the scroll that was talking about weaponry that Ye Hua really got interested.  With his thirst for knowledge always in the forefront, Ye Hua found himself reading carefully of the lessons and how to create weapons.  Mo Yuan was attentive, being a studious boy.  On this particular day he wrote:  "Today Fuxi taught us how to make magical weapons.  I found this lesson to be interesting to say the least.  To create such a weapon, a piece of one's own spirit is required to give it a life of it's own.  This way a weapon will choose it's own master or the creator can bestow it to another.  I'm intrigued as to what happens if the weapon is given away without consent of the creator.  I must delve into this later.  There are many magical artifacts that are around.  Some as weapons and some as everyday things to be used....
Ye Hua read on...." Today I tried my hand at creating a weapon.  I created a small bell that I used a piece of the Flame Eternal and a piece of my own spirit.  It is a weapon that can destroy the whole world.  The owner can expand the bell from their hand and use it to trap someone in it or cause it to expand.  The expansion happens in four stages of progression.  Each stage causes the bell to expand in the sky where it acts as a vacuum of sorts.  It would then devour the world.  I created a spell that shuts it off.  This spell must be used by progression three or it can't be stopped.  I'm going to show it to Fuxi tomorrow.  I hope he is proud of what I have made!"...
Ye Hua found himself not able to put the journal down even though he heard the dinner bell ringing.  Mo Yuan wrote the next day....."today has been the worst day of my life.  I thought Fuxi would be proud of the weapon I made but instead he was furious.  He was so angry he punished me in front of the whole class.  I had to drop my pants and bend over to receive the punishment.  It was very embarrassing.  Why did he have to do it in front of them all?  Why?  They all laughed at me.  He took the bell and he told me 'because you have created a weapon with no regard for life in general or even yourself, the day will come when your soul, Mo Yuan, your very soul will be required to stop this thing you have created.  Your own soul will be required to seal it.  Why did you do it?  It can be destroyed, but it will require a soul just the opposite of yours.  One truly evil and one that regards only lust for power.  That is not you.  Never you, Mo Yuan!'  Father has always been strict, but why must I always feel like he blames me for Mother's death?  She saved the world!  If only she were here!  Mother, only you will be able to deliver me because today, Father cursed me.  His own son.  I only hope that one day, I will have a son.  I will love him like I've never been loved.  He will be my crown of joy and his mother will be worshipped by me.  He will be created in love and never will he feel as alone in this world as I do."  Ye Hua found himself crying for his brother.  In some way, he understood their father.  Maybe it was his grief at losing their mother or even losing him, he couldn't be sure, but he now knew the answer to the problem.  He left the journal open on his desk and went to find his only blood relative, his twin brother.
He had skipped dinner.  Mo Yuan was worried when Ye Hua didn't come so he set out to get him.  He was walking down the hall to his room when he saw him coming toward him.  His head was hung low and he was wiping tears from his eyes.  When he looked up and saw his brother, he ran into his arms weeping and sobbing.  "Da ge, I'm so sorry.  I found the answer to the bell.  I found it.  Don't be sad anymore, please?  I know Father did love you.  I know he did!!  And Mother did save you, too!"  Mo Yuan knelt down to look at his sweet Didi.  What had happened?  He was about to ask when Ye Hua took his hand and led him to his room.  He led him to his study and showed him the open journal.  Mo Yuan sat down to read as Ye Hua stood beside him.  He had his arm around Mo Yuan's shoulders and Mo Yuan had his arm around his small waist.  Ye Hua pointed at the days entry about his punishment and being cursed.  Mo Yuan read his own words he had written that day.  The memory of it came flooding back like a wave over a rock.  The more he read the more of the pain he had suffered, both mentally and physically, of that day came back.  When he read the last word he put his head down and sobbed.  He sobbed for the relationship he never had with his father.  He sobbed because he knew his mother had saved him.  He sobbed because Ye Hua had been born as a sign from his mother that he was loved.  He sobbed because his father had sacrificed his own power to save Ye Hua, something he didn't even know until the bitter end.  Mo Yuan turned and grabbed Ye Hua and held him close.  "Ye Hua, I know before I came to get you that your life had been love less.  I want you to feel what it's like to be loved.  I have tried to give you that here with me.  Father had hoped you would come forth before he died, but you slept on until my own soul was required of me just as Father said it would be.  Mother helped me get back.  It is my hope that one day she might speak to you, too.  We now have the answer.  Thank you, Didi!  I hope you know I love you!"   Ye Hua was still hugging Mo Yuan when Bai Qian walked in very quietly.  She saw them together and turned to leave when Mo Yuan saw her.  He wiped his eyes and started to stand but Ye Hua still had him in a death grip.  Her eyes softened as she spoke, "so what are my two favorite men in the world doing?  Chang Shan has the best cakes ever for dessert!"  Mo Yuan and Ye Hua looked at each other wide eyed.  Ye Hua shoved his brother and took off like lightning.  "Last one for cake is a rotten egg!"  He jumped in a puff of blue smoke.  Mo Yuan started laughing so hard he nearly doubled over.  He pointed at the door laughing and said between laughs, "I've..haha...created...hahaha.... A cake eating......haha haha....little monster!"  Bai Qian took his hand and led him back to the dining room.  Sure enough, Ye Hua was stuffing the last piece into his mouth.  Zi Lan griped first.  "Shifu!  He ate all the cake!  He's insatiable when it comes to cake!  Nobody even got a piece!"  "Well it is my fault.  I told him if he could break Donghuang Dijun's barrier in the throne room he could have cake for a month.  Of course he broke it so he thinks cake is all he has to eat now.  Starting tomorrow, he gets one piece a day.  No exceptions Chang Shan!!"
That night while Bai Qian was brushing Mo Yuan's hair out, Ye Hua knocked on their door.  "Enter."   Ye Hua stopped for a moment and then walked over to Bai Qian.  "Would you brush out my hair?  It's kind of tangled."  Mo Yuan took him into his lap and undid his hair piece.  He took the brush and was about to brush it when Ye Hua shook his head.  "Uh uh.  I want JieJie to do it.  I want to know what it feels like for a mother to do it."  Mo Yuan was a little taken aback but he handed her the brush.  She started at the ends detangling his hair.  With a soft touch she got out every tangle and brushed until his hair crackled.  He jumped down off of Mo Yuan's lap and hugged her around her legs.  "That felt real nice JieJie.  Will you do it for me every night?"  "Yes, Ye Hua, I will.  Just like a mother would do."  "Goodnight Da ge."  "Good night tian de Didi."
"I don't ever want him to change but I know he will and that makes me sad.  He is so kind and gentle."  Mo Yuan sighed.  "Qian Qian, Ye Hua was reading my journals today looking for an answer to the Donghuang bell.  He came across my thoughts after Father punished me for creating it.  Do you know, I wept again when I read it and he actually was comforting me!  What an exceptional Didi he is!  He did find out how to destroy it too, just like I knew he would."  "Mo Yuan, he is a very special little boy and I want to believe our sons could be like him.  Especially since they will have you as a father!"
