Fuqin is Here

     Mo Yuan was beside himself.  Who could be tampering with JinDe's mind?  Why would they even want to do it?  What was the purpose?  He needed answers and he needed them yesterday.  Zhe Yan came back with elixers and gave one to JinDe right away.  "Zhe Yan, someone is tampering with JinDe's mind.  I read his mind.  There was a train of thought in the very back of his mind telling him to kill himself.  The worst part is it sounds like me.  I'm going to get Dijun.  He's the only one that I know who could have answers.  I have to do something.  We can't keep him asleep forever."  "I'll keep him comfortable until you return." 
     Mo Yuan jumped to the gate closet to Taichen Palace.  Dijun was reading when Mo Yuan walked in.  "I need a favor."  "Oh?  What is it that has you in such a hurry?"  "Mo JinDe tried to kill himself today.  Out of desperation I read his mind.  Someone is tampering with his mind.  There is a train of thought in the very back of his mind that sounds like me telling him to kill himself.  I have to find out who it is and what is their purpose."  Dijun stood and nodded.  They left and arrived at the great hall and rushed to Mo Yuan's cave.  Dijun sat down and read JinDe's mind.  He had a furious look on his face.  "We need to know who were the last people to visit him before you brought him here.  Whoever it was is close by or they couldn't keep up the spell.  It's ancient evil.  It's also mermaid clan magic."  "Bai Xue, get Jinzi.  He was with JinDe nearly all day."  Bai Xue brought Jinzi in.  Dijun held out his hand for him to come to him.  Jinzi looked at his father who nodded to him and he walked forward.  "Jinzi, since you were with JinDe the day he was brought here, do you remember the people who were around him or visited him?"  He wrinkled his brow in thought.  "Silly girls at lotus pond when Er ge go walking.  Two in throne room.  Bai Xue.  Mother.  Shushu. Lui Lie come after Shushu.  She come before we go for walk.  That all."  "You have done well, Jinzi.  No detail has escaped you.  Did anyone bring anything with them when they visited?"  "Lui Lie bring flower she says special from Southern Sea kingdom.  She put it in vase for Er ge.  She wave hand and make dust spray on Er ge."  Dijun stood and jumped.  He was gone about an hour before he was back.  "It's as I thought.  The flower and vase are gone.  If she has been secretly doing things behind the scenes, how will we break it to Ye Hua?  Mo Yuan!  Call him to you now!  We will act like JinDe is going to die and you are distraught.  If she comes with him, all the better.  I will read her mind.  The insolence!  We need Baohu here.  Is he close by?"  Bai Xue brought him out from behind him.  "Baohu, I will need you to mind talk to Lui Lie if she comes with Ye Hua.  Tell her you know what she did.  Keep telling her over and over.  Tell her she will never marry Ye Hua.  Don't say Shushu, say his name.  That will throw her off.  We must all do our part now.  Ye Hua is in grave danger being near her.  Alright Mo Yuan, call Ye Hua."  Mo Yuan got down on his knees by JinDe.  He readied himself and called Ye Hua to him.
     Ye Hua was sitting in the garden with Lui Lie.  He doubled over and grimaced.  He stood and staggered toward the gate to the garden.  He turned to look at Lui Lie.  "Something is wrong with Da ge!  I must go to Kunlun now.  Wait for me until I find out what's wrong."  She took his arm and asked him, "can't I go with you?"  "I'll be flying fast.  Are you sure?"  "Yes, I'm sure.  After all, they are to become my family soon."  He looped his arm around her waist and jumped to the gate and then to Kunlun.  Ye Hua was greeted by Die Feng and led straight to the cave.  Lui Lie was with him.  He knelt beside Mo Yuan.  "Da ge!  What has happened?  What's wrong?"  He looked up and the devastation on his face was terrible to see.  Baohu took his cue and started his harassment.  "I know what you did.  You will never marry Tianjun Ye Hua!  I know what you did!"  Lui Lie was looking around like she was looking for someone behind her.  "Ye Hua, Mo JinDe tried to kill himself today.  He is going to die and I can't stop it!"  Dijun was reading Lui Lie's mind as Baohu bombarded her mind.  "I know what you did to Mo JinDe.  I know you are not worthy to marry Tianjun Ye Hua.  I know what you did!"  Her thoughts were jumbled.  "Who is this?  What do you want?"  "I know what you did!  Donghua Dijun knows too.  We know!"  She was shaking her head back and forth.  She grabbed her temples and said "no".  " You know nothing!"  "You use flower to kill Mo JinDe.  I know what you did!"  "You know nothing!"  Everyone looked at her and she realized she had spoken out loud.  Ye Hua looked at her puzzled.  "What is going on here?  What don't they know?"  Dijun sat down by JinDe and looked at her.  "Yes, Lui Lie, why don't you tell Tianjun Ye Hua what you tried to do to his own nephew and how you have been a spy all along for the mermen and for someone else.  Why don't you enlighten him?"  Ye Hua was angry.  "Just what is the meaning of all this?"  Mo Yuan stood up to tell him.  "The day I summoned you to tell you I was taking JinDe to Kunlun, your dear sweet fiance had used a flower to throw a mind control spell on him.  He turned inward and wouldn't communicate with any of us.  If Die Feng hadn't seen him going to the pools with his dagger and alerted me, he would be dead now.  He had cut his wrists and was about to cut his throat when I stopped him.  The spell was an ancient mermaid clan spell.  Who would know this spell other than her?  What else has been going on that we don't know?"  Ye Hua grabbed her arm.  "Speak!  No wonder I have been having headaches.  Especially after Chang Shan sends cake.  Who else have you been reporting to?"  She was terrified now.  "I report to my fiance who my father sent away because of you.  Heian de.  Demon prince."  Ye Hua grabbed her by the throat.  "I should kill you now!  Take her to the dungeon.  She will be tried tomorrow in the throne room!"  Mo Yuan put his hand on Ye Hua's shoulder.  "I'm sorry, Ye Hua.  I thought she was a decent person.  I knew nothing of the demon prince."  "It's ok, Da ge.  No one will ever come here and harm any of my family ever again."
     Mo JinDe was in a medicine induced coma for three days to remove the spell from him.  Dijun removed it and ordered ZheYan to give him medicine to sleep.  On the evening of the third day, he opened his eyes to see his father laying beside him holding him to his shoulder like he was a small child.  His eyes were closed and he looked like he had been through hell.  He reached up to touch his face.  "Fuqin?  Fuqin!  Where am I?"  Mo Yuan opened his eyes and held JinDe to him.  Tears streamed down his face.  "JinDe, my son!  My brave son!  I brought you to Kunlun to heal your dragon.  You are in my meditation cave.  Do you remember anything?"  He knitted his brow together but he could only remember taking his medicine in his room.  "No, I took my medication and laid down for a nap."  "You had a mind control spell cast on you.  JinDe, you tried to kill yourself at the pool.  I had to stop you from cutting your throat.  You had already cut your wrists.  My son, Fuqin will always be here for you!  I know you're grown now, but I just wanted to hold you.  I thought I was going to lose you!  You have been through much.  Do you feel like rising?"  JinDe snuggled right into his father's shoulder.  "Actually it feels right nice right here.  Do you mind?"  "You will never be too old to be where you are, my golden boy!  Lay back and we shall rest."  Bai Xue walked in and grinned.  "Well I'm jealous!  Where's my cuddle?"  He lay down on the other side and sandwiched his father in the middle.  "Hmmm this feels right nice!  I forgot what Fuqin's strong arms felt like."  Bai Qian walked in with Baohu and Jinzi.  They piled on their father.  He was covered!  "All of my boys in a big bear hug!  But enough!  Your smothering me.  I'm assuming your mother has come to break up our party!"  "I want all five of you in the hot pool pronto.  It's nothing I hate worse thank stinking little foxes and rank dragons.  Linens, clothes and oils are waiting for some man time.  Now off with all of you!"
   Mo Yuan had to admit that the hot pool did feel nice.  He massaged JinDe's shoulders and then Xue Xue's.  "That felt nice, Fuqin.  You know just how to do it."  Bai Xue rubbed his father's shoulders.  "Your rather tense, Fuqin.  Mother needs to rub you down."  He grinned.  Mo Yuan laughed.  Jinzi took the opportunity to splash his father right in the face.  "So we want to play hard, do we?"  He sunk below the water and swam underneath Jinzi and threw him up in the air.  Giggles and squeals were heard all over the mountain.  Mo Yuan splashed JinDe.  "Hey, no fair!  Get him brothers!!"  Try as they might he jumped all over the pond until they were confused and he was laying on a rock ledge naked and propped up on an elbow.  "Looking for someone?"  All four of them turned and he laughed hard at them.  He jumped back in the pool.  "Let's get these stinky foxes all clean before your mother comes and embarrasses us!"  They all came into the hall clean and all groomed smelling like clean men.  Bai Qian sniffed them as they went by.  "Well that's much better!  We can now all dine in comfort.  It's a shame Ye Hua returned to the nine heavens.  He could have joined you!"
     Ye Hua was in his own hot pool lamenting what a fool he had been.  He so wanted a family of his own!  It wasn't that he was jealous of his Da ge.  He wasn't.  He just wanted to have his own relationship.  He was thinking that Mo Yuan would have to play matchmaker again.  At least there was a much shortened list now.  He smiled.  He had learned a powerful lesson yesterday.  He would need to have a talk with Da ge on how to read women.  Yes, that was it.  He would indeed.  Maybe tomorrow he would go to Kunlun.  His schedule was light for the next few days wasn't it?  No, he forgot.  The trial.  Da ge would be coming here.  Ugh!  Oh well, it had to be done.  Ye Hua had just gotten out of the pool when Jia Yun brought a message.  It was from Mo Yuan.  They were coming in the morning.  JinDe was still recovering but much better.  Ye Hua smiled.  All was not lost.  Bai Xue and Mo JinDe had become a very important part of his court.  JinDe had proven to be a most able commander and Bai Xue was the best intelligence advisor.  They had grown up with him like he was their big brother.  He would be more careful in the future, but he would come out the better for it!
