Wedding Plans and Sad Situations

       Bai Qian's mother was driving her crazy.  She knew she had gone over at least a hundred lists.  Since Mo Yuan had estranged himself from the nine heavens, the wedding was to be held at Kunlun.  All matters for Qing Qui had been tended to.  Now they need only go to Kunlun and discuss the rest with Mo Yuan.  Qian Qian wasn't looking forward to that but he had to face her mother eventually!  They left at week's end to go and finish with the preparations. 
     They arrived close to lunch.  Mo Yuan was sitting on his dais with Ye Hua sitting by him.  What a difference a week made!  The boy was animated and the other disciples were talking to him and bringing him more out of his shell.  When Ye Hua saw her he ran and grabbed her hand to lead her forward.  "Jiejie, I can bring out my dragon now!  Da ge taught me!  Want to see?"  She looked up at Mo Yuan in surprise.  She mouthed the word Jiejie as a question.  He knew her question so he answered her.  "Since I am Da ge, and since we are about to be married, that makes you Jiejie to him.  I gave him permission to call you that.  Are you ok with that?"  "Of course!  My Xiao Lianhua can call me Jiejie!"  Ye Hua looked up at her and asked her with a quizzical look on his face.  "Why do you call me Xiao Lianhua?  Am I a lotus?"  "Well you were the first time I met you!"  "So you knew me when I was a lotus?"  "Yes I did and now I know a sweet little boy!"  He led her to sit next to his brother and then he grabbed Bai Qian's mother's hand and led her to a seat.  "Such a gentleman!  Mo Yuan you are teaching him well I see!"   Mo Yuan smiled.  "Ye Hua is a fast learner.  You only have to show him something once and he understands.  I'm very proud of the progress he has made in just a week."  Ye Hua ran down to Zi Lan and sat by him to talk.  "As you can see, he has come out of his shell and has become more talkative.  I will probably never know how he was treated and suppressed by Haode, but he won't be here.  He can grow and be the loved person he is meant to be.  Qian Qian, I hope you won't mind being there for him.  He needs a female influence and I would like you to be that for him."  "Mo Yuan, you know I already love him!  He's so kind and gentle.  He will be a great leader some day.  I foresee great things for him."
     Bai Qian's mother turned to Mo Yuan.  "Mo Yuan, we must talk about the date now.  You said in a month.  That leaves only three weeks.  Are you sure?"  "Yes, I'm sure.  I want no more delays.  I've waited a long time for Qian Qian.  I don't want to wait any longer."  He faced Bai Qian and the soft look in his eyes told her everything.    "We have to get busy then.  I will be back in two days to hang the banners and discuss the menu with Chang Shan.  Please have your part of the guest list ready by then.  Xiao Wu, I must be off now.  I'll see you in two days!"   With that, she flew off the mountain.  Mo Yuan nodded to leave the dining room.  Bai Qian followed him and grabbed his arm.  "How about a little walk, hmmm?"  Her soft eyes looked into his.  "That would be nice.  Where to?"  "To the back part of the mountain.  I want to show you something."  They walked on until he brought her to a small valley filled with flowers and a waterfall with a pool under it.  The flowers smelled of jasmine and the air was filled with a subtle fragrance of cedar wood.  He dipped his head and whispered in her ear.  "How about I build you a pavilion right over there by that pool?  We could share that pool and this would be our own little private valley.  What do you think, my love?"  She looked up at him and was amazed.  She would probably never get over his soft side.  She was seeing Mo Yuan the planner who was taking care of everything.  She liked it.  "Yes I can quite see it right over there.  Hmmm yes.  Real nice and cozy."  He hugged her close and kissed her.  The kiss deepened and his hands were going down her side when he heard a roar.  A dragon roar.  A dragon in anguish.  He looked at her and apologized.  "I'm sorry, Qian Qian, but I believe that's Ye Hua.  Something is wrong!  I must hurry!"  He stepped away from her and transformed right there.  He was speeding toward the sound at a high rate of speed.
      Mo Yuan headed straight back to the compound as fast as possible.  What he saw was heart breaking.  Ye Hua was circling the arena crying out for him.  His little cries were pitiful as he moaned and circled the compound.  He flew beside the little dragon and got on eye level with him.  As soon as he did, Ye Hua nuzzled under his side and sighed.  He brought them down to the arena and transformed.  Ye Hua also transformed right into his arms.  Tears were running down his face.  He hugged Mo Yuan tightly and sobbed his little heart out.  Mo Yuan was confused and was rubbing his back.  He took him to the side pavilion and asked him what happened.  "Ye Hua, what happened?  Are you ok?  Did someone hurt you?"  He sniffled and looked up.  "I couldn't find you and Jiejie.  I looked everywhere.  I thought you left me.  I'm sorry.  My dragon said he could find you so I let him.  You came fast too.  Was I wrong?"  "Well, yes and no.  I took Jiejie for a walk.  I'm planning a gift for her for our honeymoon.  I should have told you but I thought you would be ok with Zi Lan.  What made you come looking for me?  I would never leave you, Ye Hua.  You need only ask one of your disciple brothers to find me.  Don't erupt your dragon like that again.  That was one of those bad times I was talking about.  If you had gone down the mountain unattended, someone could have hurt you.  I would kill anyone that hurt you.  Do you understand?"  "I understand.  Next time I will go to Die Feng or Chang Shan to find you.  I was afraid Da ge!  I don't want to be alone anymore!"  He hugged Mo Yuan tighter and laid his head on his brother's shoulder.  Mo Yuan suddenly understood everything.  Ye Hua was left alone as punishment.  All to himself in an empty place with no one. 
     Mo Yuan took Ye Hua to his own room so he could rest.  "I'll be right down the hall now.  Just rest here until I return."  He yawned and laid down.  Mo Yuan was as shocked as he had ever been.  That the boy would attach to him so quickly had him worried.  He was thinking of ways to placate his attachment when he met Bai Qian in the hallway.  "Mo Yuan, what happened?  Is Ye Hua ok?"  He took her arm and led her to his study.  "You won't believe what I just found out!  Ye Hua panicked.  He thought I had left him alone.  Don't you see?  That's how they punished him.  They would throw him in a dusty room somewhere and leave him alone.  He's terrified of it.  From now on I'll make sure someone is around him all the time.  Every day I'm with him, I understand him a little more.  We need to shower him with love and care.  He's been so deprived.  My heart aches so much for him.  He exhausted himself by erupting his dragon to find me.  He knew his little anguished cry would bring out my dragon.  My dragon jumped into my presence so fast I almost lost control.  I guess you see how I will be with my own children when we have them!  Would you mind sitting with him?  I must have a meeting with the disciples about this while he is asleep."  "I'll go right now.  He will be ok.  Don't worry."
     Die Feng gathered the brothers together as quickly as possible.  Mo Yuan addressed them.  "As you all know by now, Ye Hua erupted his dragon in a panic to find me today.  I have discovered by a talk with him that he is literally terrified of being left alone.  I'm assuming that this is how he was punished in the nine heavens.  From this point on, I want one of you to always be with him.  Once he starts classwork, make sure he is not alone to study.  Even if you just sit in the corner to read, always be there.  He will eventually grow out of it once he gets older, but for now, let's just always be there."  They all nodded and Die Feng started making a schedule for them to take turns with Ye Hua. 
     Mo Yuan walked back to his room just in time to see Ye Hua climb into Bai Qian's lap.  He was still crying.  "Jiejie, you won't leave me will you?"  "No Xiao Lianhua, I won't leave you.  I must go home one week before the wedding though.  Will you be ok when I do?"  "Yes.  You're coming back."  "I have a request.  Why don't you be the family member who comes to Qing Qui to get the bride?  What do you think about that?"  He chiseled little face lit up like the sun.  "May I?  Really?  Oh boy let me go tell Da ge right now!!"  He jumped up to run out and barreled into Mo Yuan.  "Ouch!  It's a small dragon bent on destruction!  Why such a hurry?"  "Da ge!  Jiejie said I can be the one to come to Qing Qui to get the bride on your wedding day!!  May I, Da ge?"  His little face was excited as he waited for an answer.  "I was just about to ask you.  Well that's settled then.  You and your disciple brothers go to get the bride!"
     Bai Qian's mother was back just like she promised.  Banners were being hung all over the compound.  She discussed the menu with Chang Shan and was about to sit down when Ye Hua came running up to her.  "Da ge said I can be the one to come get the bride!"  "Oh that's wonderful!  You're just the perfect person too!  I'll have to fit you for a robe!  What color do you want?"  "Blue, please.  Just like Da ge's official robe."  "Blue it will be then.  Now come help me just a minute."  When Mo Yuan came in looking for Ye Hua, Zhi Zhi had him hanging small banners and following her like a small puppy.  He knew he was in good hands so he went looking for Bai Qian.  He found her in the wine cellar.  Dusting.  "Why is it I always find you in the wine cellar?"  She jumped when he spoke like she had been caught red handed doing something she shouldn't.  "You always were good at sneaking too!  I'm only dusting.  Where's Ye Hua?"  "Your mother has him totally occupied.  Now come here my Xiao Huli.  I finally have you alone."  He pulled her into his arms.  He kissed her with a great deal of passion.  Her mouth opened to his tongue as he licked her lips with great relish.  He broke it off to kiss down her neck.  He pulled her robe apart and kissed the scar on her chest.  His tongue flicked over it and he heard her sigh.  Emboldened, he untied her robe and started to pull it off her shoulders when he heard voices.  He straightened her robe.  When she looked into his eyes, the aggravation was swirling in them like a storm.  He let out a long breath.  "One of these days......"  "Shifu, you have visitors.  It's Lady Le Xu and Third Prince Lian Song!"  "I'm coming.  Take them to my study."  He turned to Bai Qian and hugged her.  "I swear I'm going to take you off this mountain!"  "Only one more week!  Surely you can wait that long?"  His dragon snorted.  "See?  Even he is getting impatient!  Ok, let's go before I snatch you away and elope!"
