So what are my boys up to today?" Fenli answered first. "Fenli wants Fuqin. Have bad dream last night." "And you, Ali? Did you have a bad dream?" "Uh huh! Big bad snake come take us away from Fuqin! Snake smell Zufu and run away!" "Tell Zufu what this snake looks like." Ali, being the more expressive one began the tale. "Snake big, enormous, ugly and yellow. It not white like Fuqin. Fuqin dragon pure white. Snake yellow." "Hmmm, I see. What else can you tell me?" "Zufu, snake try to trick Fuqin. Snake wants Fuqin. It get Fuqin to come to desert. Me scared." Fenli was gripping Mo Yuan's robe. "Zufu will come set a barrier for you, don't worry. Now go see your Zumu while I talk to your Fuqin." That way we can compare exactly what he's thinking and actually saying. You boys get ready." Mo Yuan was sitting at his study desk. Baohu and Jinzi were at another desk off to his left. Bai Xue and JinDe brought the man in. Baohu started writing. "Are you the emissary for Queen She Shing Ti?" "I am, High God Mo Yuan! How can I help you?" Jinzi was writing now. "I wish to ask you some questions concerning an effort by your mistress to terrorise my sunzis. Why do you think this is necessary?" "I'm sure I don't know what you mean, High God. The next morning Qingyuan de Hua toured Meili's garden. He was amazed. The garden was lush and aromatic. She had planted the snake flowers everywhere. The garden was meant to be a safe haven. The smell of roses, citrus trees, jasmine, gardenias and honeysuckle filled your nose the moment you walked in. Bai Xue closed his eyes and smelled the air. They always sat at their table or on the grass by the hot pool. The boys were sitting on the grass by the pool. "This is our favorite place. We picnic here a lot, don't we boys?" "Uh huh! We like it!!" "I will leave them here with you. Train them well! Boys, your Zufu will be training you today! Fuqin has work to do so behave and listen to your Zufu. Come give me a hug!" When Bai Xue returned to his office, he could smell the scroll from the snake queen. He was disgusted. He set it aside to take to his Fuqin. His agents in that area had been busy so he gathered those scrolls together so they could look over them. Xue knew he was being followed. He also knew that since Qingyuan had been planting the flowers in their gardens, the snake's agents couldn't stand to follow him there. He grinned to himself. He was turning the corner to go to Shangdi Zhanzheng when he saw a familiar figure coming toward him. It was Lang Shu Rong. He waved at Xue to stop him. He bowed and spoke. " Lord Bai Xue, I have come to see you and your father! I hope by chance you are going to his palace?" "Rong! How good to see you! How is your business? You can tell me as we walk to Fuqin's palace." "Lord Bai Xue, it is doing very well. In fact, I brought another hair pin for your mother with me. I heard you lost your wife. I was very sorry to hear it." "Yes, she died giving birth to our sons. She was a delicate little flower who I miss dearly. Here we are. What brings you here? Trouble?" "Yes. Big trouble!" "Well follow me to the garden. Fuqin is there." Xue handed his father the letter and sat down at the table. He spread the scrolls out before them. As Mo Yuan read the letter, his face turned red and then black clouds of anger spread across his face. "Preposterous! The nerve!" "What did she say, Fuqin?" "Let's just say her infatuation with you is as bad as Baohu and Jinzi were about my dragon 'thing'! She wants you badly, Xue! When did you ever meet her? I don't remember seeing her here." "She was here for Shushu Ye Hua's coronation. I remember her being at the reception. She was hovering around us then. I believe she was also at mine and JinDe's wedding and Shushu's coronation. I never had a clue. Why does she want me and not JinDe? Why didn't she go after Shushu? Why me?" "Xue, I'm starting to wonder if Meili's death was not natural. What if she has been manipulating everything to get you? Let's read these reports quickly. We might come across something." They read reports and noted things for over an hour.
