Sanem

I couldn't believe what was happening, having my sister there where I had always wanted her, close to me, seemed incredible. In the meantime, Aziz and Mihriban had joined us to tell us that dinner was ready in Yusuf's garden.

How had they managed to organize everything without me even realizing it?

It was funny to see Aziz's pride in introducing Mihriban to his son Emre, it was clear that he was introducing him to more than a friend and Emre appeared surprised but amused and happy for his father.

Metin and Denise also arrived, by now the table under the tree in Yusuf's garden had become very long, it was gradually enriched with new elements, our family was growing by the day. Our family, of course, because that's what we were, one big family.
Mihriban, Denise and Yusuf had been that year the family I didn't have.
Metin had always been the brother that Can had not been able to have by his side during the years of forced distance from Emre imposed by Huma.

It was wonderful to see everyone happy and carefree, I was really happy and I owed it all to Can, to his return and his choice to fight for us this time instead of running away, he was slowly managing to rebuild pieces of my heart devastated by his departure.

I watched him smiling at his brother, he was so beautiful, it didn't seem possible but he managed to make me love him more and more every day, it was incredible!

Can

Sanem's surprises weren't over yet, two more were about to arrive at that very moment, without making me realize it I walked away.

I had called an emergency meeting and here they came, I led the way to the back of Yusuf's house, he didn't expect the hubbub and confusion that was coming from around the corner, they stopped to look at the faces of the people sitting at the large table one by one and...

The first one to see it was Cey Cey, he became agitated as only he knew how to do and began to run in circles repeating - Sanem! Sanem! Sanem! - at that point Deren spotted her too - Saneeeem!

For her part Sanem was once again open-mouthed, she ran towards them ecstatically, how much she had missed Deren and Cey Cey.
Deren with time had become a dear friend while Cey Cecy, well Cey Cey was special to her, he was the brother she never had, he was cheerful, he was carefree but he was also listening and comforting, he always had been.
It was because of Cey Cey that she had accidentally ended up in that dark tunnel and met her albatross, she could never thank him enough for being so clumsy and confusing.

She hugged them with tears in her eyes and immense joy, it was so good to see them again, now she had to introduce them to the most beautiful part of her life.
He took them both by the hand and brought them in front of Can who was sitting at the big table with little Nihat smiling on his lap.

- Friends, I must introduce you to someone important to me, he is the essence and joy of my existence, the most beautiful gift life could ever give me.
I present to you your nephew uncles, this is Nihat -

Deren brought both her hands to her mouth in disbelief while Cey Cey began to tremble, taking small steps on the spot as if he could not stay still and contain his emotion.
While Deren hugged me and Can , Cey Cey got down on his knees in front of Can to be at the same height as little Nihat
- Hi Nihat, I'm Uncle Cey Cey, nice to meet you - he shook Nihat's hand as one would do with an adult and the little one, happy, did nothing but throw himself forward and wrap his arms around Cey Cey's neck.
He was petrified, it was an emotion too strong for him, he would have wanted to scream, as he usually did, or run somewhere to vent his feelings, but he couldn't do anything but hold that fragrant little body to himself feeling a tenderness that he had never experienced before. That little one had conquered a corner of his heart forever, that was for sure.

Happy and carefree hours passed, slowly the guests began to say goodbye and left, as usual we took the baby to sleep and went to enjoy our special moment on the pier.

We were happy as never before, it had been a memorable evening, all our closest friends were around us, my father was there, my brother and his sister were there, an essential part of his life was missing and it had become an important part of mine as well.

I deeply loved Sanem's parents, Mevkibe had been a panacea for the mother-abandoned child in me, she had introduced me to maternal warmth and affection like no one in my life before and I loved Nihat for being a wise and loving father.

At one point Sanem said:

- Can I want to thank you, after all this time I couldn't get the courage to tell them the truth, I felt like I had betrayed them all by cutting them out of my life, I felt guilty and couldn't find the strength to tell them the truth.
If you hadn't intervened I probably would have never been able to hug them all again. My sister especially, I know I did her a huge wrong by excluding her from my life but I also knew that she would never be able to keep such a secret in front of my mother's deadly inquiring eyes.

I hugged her tightly trying to convey all the love I felt, it was impossible to describe it in words, I could only externalize it by holding her close.

- Sanem it's the least I could do, I'm responsible for all the suffering you went through having to get you away from everyone, it was my responsibility to protect you and I didn't do it, I honestly have no idea what exactly went wrong that night at the cabin, but looking at little Nihat I can only thank Allah for giving us such a wonder.

Only wish things had gone differently, I wish I had married you right away like I intended to do and all this would never have happened.

Tekrar özür dilerim, I apologize again Sanem, my life's mission from now on will be to repay you for everything I've caused you.

She put her hand on my cheek looking into my eyes adoringly.

- The important thing is that now you are back, that you still love me and that you won't leave us anymore, that's all that matters, let's leave to the past what has been, aşkım, my love.
