The morning after the terrible incident was uncomfortable. Everyone was called out to the great hall for an assembly. Despite the fact that the hallways were swarming with people, it was quieter than it ever has been. Cho was absolutely devastated and anytime you saw her it was most likely she'd be crying.

"I don't blame her." said Hermione in a hushed whisper as we were walking to the great hall. "She did loose her boyfriend."

"I don't either. I think we'd all feel the same if that was our boyfriend." I said. I felt a presence tower behind me as we walked. Fred.

"Hello." he whispered as he walked besides me. "How are you doing?"

"Decently. He was a dear friend of mine." I said as I played with my sleeve. "I can't even begin to imagine how Harry feels."

"Traumatized I bet." said George.

We arrived for the assembly and Fred asked me to sit besides him. Angelina sat next to me while Lee sat besides her and George on the other side of Fred. Hermione, Harry, and Ron sat behind us. As everyone finished getting there, Dumbledore looked extremely worried and sorrowful.

"Today we acknowledge a really terrible loss." he began as he stood up and faced all the students. "Cedric Diggory was as you all know, exceptionally hard working, intricately fair minded. And most importantly a fierce, fierce friend.

Tears were threatening to start rolling down my cheeks. Hermione was already crying and Cho was a mess. I felt extremely bad for her.

"I think therefore you have the right to know exactly how he died. You see, Cedric Diggory was murdered by Lord Voldemort.

The whole great hall erupted into low yet loud whispers. I found myself feeling quite anxious so my first thought was to hold Fred's hand.

"Can I hold your hand? Please?" I whispered. He looked at me and noticed my behavior shift.

"Yes of course." he said as he took my hand and locked fingers with mine. He began to make circles with his thumb on my hand. I felt safe with him.

"The ministry of magic does not wish me to tell you this." continued Dumbledore. "But not to do so I think would be and insult to his memory. Now the pain we all feel at this dreadful loss reminds me, reminds us that while we may come from different places and speak in different tongues, out hearts beat as one. In light of recent events the bonds of friendship we made this year will be more important than ever. Remember that Cedric Diggory will not have died in vain, you remember that. And we'll celebrate a boy who was kind and honest and brave and true right to the very end."

As Dumbledore finished his speech, Cho stood up and walked out quickly, tears running down her cheeks. I turned back to look at Hermione and we both decided to go talk to her after the assembly.

"Now off you go. We'll meet out in the courtyard to say goodbye to our guests later." said Dumbledore as we all stood up and headed out.

"Where are we going?" asked Fred as Hermione and I walked towards where Cho went. I looked down at our hands and forgot we were holding hands.

"Oh sorry. You can go back to the common room if you'd like." I said as I let go of his hand.

"It's alright I'll come with." he said as he took my hand again. I tried to hold back a smile as I looked at Hermione and saw her smirking secretively. We finally reached Cho and she was sitting on one of the benches alone.

"Hey Cho." I said as we approached her.

"Oh hello." she responded as she wiped her tears and forced a smile.
