My Weasley (Fred x Reader)

Chapter 8- The First Task

I had rarely spoken to Fred alone. We would only talk when it came to group hang outs. The whole school was going on about how there was two champions for Hogwarts. Harry was having a hard time since he kept getting negative comments and dirty looks from everyone. Especially the Hufflepuffs. Ron wasn't talking to Harry either and well Hermione was mostly with Ron so I was Harry's companion.

"So the first task?" I asked as I walked with Harry.

We were on our way to warn Cedric that the first task was Dragons. Harry had been told by Hermione that Hagrid was looking for him when we were down by the lake with Neville. Ron was supposed to be the one telling Harry but he was too petty to talk to him.

"Yeah I dunno what I'm going to do." he said nervously.

"Hey potter! Read the badges!" said a Ravenclaw boy running past us.

The majority of the school had been wearing badges the had Cedric and then turned to Harry with a green color and they said 'Potter Stinks'.

"Don't listen to them Harry, those badges mean nothing."

"Thanks Y/N."

We were about to enter the yard to talk to Cedric but a girl and a boy from Hufflepuff stood in our way.

"Excuse me." said Harry not making eye contact.

They just laughed at him. How much more annoying could they be. Laughing at Harry like if he didn't have a chance at winning. The rudeness made my blood boil and I couldn't just stand there and do nothing.

"He said excuse me so move." I said as I shoved the girl out of the way.

She tumbled over to the boy next to her. Unfortunately he caught her before she could fall to the ground. 'Shame'

"Thanks Y/N, honestly dunno what I would do without you." said Harry with a slight smile.

We had reached Cedric where he was with some of his friends. They were all wearing badges and I shook my head at the disappointment. Out of all people I thought Cedric would be the one to correct people on it, but it seemed he liked the popularity. Harry cleared his throat to get Cedric's attention.

"Hey Potter like the badges?" said one of the boys there and him and the rest laughed. Even Cedric.

"Oh please, they're not even funny." I said as I gave the boy a glare that could kill.

He just gulped and looked away.

"Can we talk?" Harry asked Cedric.

"Leave him Ced!" said another boy.

"Yeah Ced!" another added.

Cedric just laughed as he made his way over to a nearby tree away from his little group. There was nothing that I wanted to do more in that moment than to slap Cedric across the face.

"Y/N, hello how are you?" he said with his signature smile.

"Diggory, great but can't say the same about Harry here." I responded.

"Um anyways, Dragons." Harry interrupted.

"Dragons?" Cedric asked.

"That's the first task"

"Are you serious?" he asked with a pale expression.

"No he's just messing with you, of course he's serious! What other reason would he have to be talking to you out of all people." I said.

He just looked at me then down to the ground. He should feel ashamed! Yes I get that he's excited to be a champion but that doesn't mean that he has to let his friends go around making fun of Harry.
