The school year felt like it was going as quick as a Firebolt broom. Hermione and I had been studying like crazy for our exams. Every now and then we had our little disagreements and we wouldn't talk much until it was time to study. Last week I hadn't even realized that Quidditch try outs were coming up. Ron wouldn't stop talking about them and about how excited he was. I didn't mind listening to him but Hermione would constantly tell him to stop.
"Are you ready for today?" asked Harry.
"I'm ready." I said.
"Me too." added Ron. "You're coming, aren't you Hermione?"
"Of course I am." she said not looking up from her book which led her to not notice Ron trying to hide his smile.
"So? Beater? Yes? Okay." said Harry.
"Wait what?" I asked. "Harry, I'll cause us to lose."
"y/n I really believe in you."
"So do I." added Ron. "Not that you asked, but I do."
"Give it a try, please." said Harry.
"Fine." I said hesitantly."I'll do it."
"Thank you y/n. If there's someone else who can do it, you'll have your spot as Chaser available." said Harry.
"Thanks Harry."
We finished up our breakfast and then headed over to our first class of the day. Potions. We arrived in the classroom and got put into groups. Hermione and Ron ended up with Crabbe and Draco, and Harry and I ended up with Blaise and Pansy. As expected, there was zero chitchat due to the rivalry between Slytherin and Gryffindor. It was also due to the fact that Harry was Half-blood and I was considered a blood traitor.
"Say y/n, you're Draco's cousin, aren't you?" asked Pansy.
"I am. What about it?" I asked.
"Why aren't you a Slytherin? Or are you a Gryffindor because your blood traitor father was too?" she said with a nasty smirk.
"Out of all people, you don't get to talk about him." I said as my fist began to clench.
"Aw, sensitive topic is it?"
"I think you should drop it." said Blaise as he nudged Pansy.
"She's a Gryffindor she can handle it, can't she?" taunted Pansy.
"You better watch what you say, Parkinson."
"Ignore her y/n." said Harry from besides me.
"Nobody was talking to you. You half breed." spat Pansy.
"Don't call him that." I snapped.
She started snickering until the potion that was in front of her exploded and the slimy consistency landed all over her. I felt myself relax and then realized I had done wandless magic. The built up anger and hatred towards her allowed me to do it without meaning to. I looked over at Harry and saw him looking at me with a knowing look. Blaise began to laugh slightly and Pansy was shrieking.
"Oh Miss Parkinson what happened?" asked Slughorn as he approached us.
"It was her!" whined Pansy with a finger pointed at me. "She made it explode. On purpose!"
"What?" I asked. "Professor-"
"That'll be ten points from Gryffindor."
"But it wasn't her fault." said Harry.
"Are you sure my boy?"
"I'm sure." said Harry.
"Well then." said Slughorn after a bit. "No points will be taken from Gryffindor. Zabini, use a spell to clean Miss Parkinson's disastrous mess."
