We had walked back to the common room after spending quite some time together. I had crept into bed without waking Hermione up and I couldn't help but squeal and giggle happily as I looked down at the ring on my finger. Eventually, I had dosed off into a deep sleep.

I awoke that morning to the sound of Hermione getting ready. I stood up and looked down at the ring to make sure it wasn't all just a great dream. It was real. It had happened.

"Good morning Y/N." she chirped.

"Good morning Mione." I said as I got out of bed happily and began to get ready.

"What's got you so happy?"

"Nothing...nothing at all." I said.

I had decided to let them notice the ring on their own, or at least until Fred said something about it. We finished getting ready and then headed down to the common room.

"Ready?" asked Harry.

We all nodded and we headed down to the great hall for breakfast. We took our seats and began eating. Today's breakfast was toast with scrambled eggs and orange juice. I was eating peacefully, until Fred walked in. I felt my stomach swarm with millions of butterflies and my cheeks flush as red as the Weasley's hair.

"Are you okay Y/N?" asked Harry.

"I'm fine. I'm okay."

"Hello love." said Fred as he took a seat besides me and George on the other side of me.

"Hello." I said.

"So?" asked George excitedly. "I see you've said yes."

"Of course you knew." I said and laughed softly.

"Said yes?" asked Ron. Fred looked at me happily and then smiled.

"Oh my god..." said Hermione excitedly as she looked at the ring on my finger. "Is that..."

"A promise ring?" finished Harry.

"Yeah." I said. "Last night Fred and I snuck out and he gave it to me."

"I've got one too." said Fred as he showed me his hand. On his ring finger, was a ring with my initials. His was gold but it had no diamonds. "I got it incase you said yes. I'm glad you said yes."

"How could I not?" I asked as I put a hand to his face and caressed his cheek.

"Congratulations!" squealed Hermione. "I mean, it's not and engagement but congratulations!"

"Congrats." said Harry as he smiled happily. Ron was still staring at the ring with his mouth wide open.

"I love you." he whispered as he planted a soft kiss on my cheek.

"Does mum know?" asked Ron.

"No." said Fred. "She doesn't even know Y/N and I are dating. I completely forgot."

"She's going to freak." said George.

"How could you forget to tell your own mother?" asked Hermione.

"Right." said Fred. "I'll write to her and tell her Y/N and I are dating, then i'll wait a bit and tell her about the ring."

"I think you should tell her all together." suggested Hermione.

"No, that'll be too much to take in at once." I said.

"And you should tell Sirius." said Harry. "I think he'd really like to know."

"I will."

"Watch him forget to write." whispered Hermione to me.

"Well, congrats." said Ron happily but confused and shocked.
