The next morning was chaotic considering all the new first years were all over the place. The Gryffindor Prefect backed out, which meant McGonagall needed a new Prefect.

"Miss Black." she said as she came up to me during breakfast.

"Yes, professor?"

"I'm offering the spot to you as Gryffindor Prefect. Do you want to take it?"

I looked at the rest of the group and they shrugged and gave me their small nods. I thought about it for a few seconds until I agreed.

"I'd love to." I said.

"Perfect. Here's your pin." she said.

She handed me the small Prefect pin like the one Percy would brag about and then excused herself. I placed it on my robes and resumed my eating.

"Well that's pretty great." said Harry. "Isn't it?"

"It's nice." I said, wishing I could go up to my dorm and write a letter to Sirius.

"Are you okay?" asked Ron.

"I'm okay. Thanks Ron."

He nodded and went back to his eating, as did the rest of us. After last night's conversation with Hermione, I started realizing how much I really missed Sirius. I knew I missed him, but I tried to push that away to avoid it. Last night I had a vision. I was standing outside of someone's vault. I could also hear the sound of a dragon in pain. Then it all went black and that's all it was.

"Who even was the Gryffindor Prefect?" I asked.

"Guess who." said Hermione as she nodded towards a blonde haired girl sitting with her friends. Amnesty.

"Hm no wonder she backed out. Doesn't seem fit to be a Prefect." said Ron.

"Won't you look at the time." said Hermione. "Let's go."

"Actually, we all have a free period, except you." I said as I pointed to Ron, Harry, and I. "Sorry Mione."

"Well, i'll be off then." she said and then she walked out.

"Miss Black." called McGonagall from the entrance to the great hall.

"So much for a free period." I said as I got up. "Can one of you watch my bag?"

"I've got it." they said at the same time.

"I'll take it." said Harry.

"No, I will." said Ron.

"Well, i'll leave you two to argue over my bag."

I excused myself and walked over to McGonagall and the group of first years that were surrounding her. She handed me a folder with time tables and I began to hand them out to the students lined up. After that, we headed out to the halls to give directions to the students.

"History of Magic is upstairs, ladies, not down." said McGonagall. "Mr. Davis, Mr. Davis, that is that girls' lavatory."

"Miss." said a little Slytherin girl. "Where is the Charms classroom?"

"That'll be downstairs. Look, follow those two Hufflepuff girls. If you need anymore help, there'll be other Prefects downstairs." I instructed.

"Thank you."

"Potter." called McGonagall.

I looked over to see Ron and Harry laughing at the chaos and at our struggling. Ron was still holding onto my bag and his tightly. Mine over one of his shoulders and his on the other.

"Oh this can't be good." mumbled Harry.

"Enjoying ourselves are we?" asked McGonagall.

I didn't hear much because I had to help out some students and I also had to get that Davis kid out of the girls' bathroom.
