Once they had made it to the office, Pitch closed the door behind them and leant against the wall glaring at Jack, who sat down next to Coral.
"Did you write that Coral?" Hook asked, she shook her head.
"No I didn't, it was Rothbart." She said firmly, Jack Sparrow took a step forward leaning close to Coral who frowned angrily.
"And you're sure?" He asked again, she slammed her hands on the chair.
"Yes!" She yelled, Jack Frost stood up and Coral glanced at him shaking her head.
"I saw the shadows attack her this time, and they attacked Jasmine, who was taken." He explained Coral frowned at him. "What? You said they weren't doing anything. Now they can with this information." He explained. The teachers all began talking over one another.
"That means he's ready to release her." Gothel muttered, Mickey sighed.
"What?"
"What do you mean?"
Jack and Coral glanced at the teachers.
"Coral, there is something you need to know." Mickey said "you and Adelaide are from the same story." He said, Coral frowned "or rather her mother and your mother are from the same story,"
"That's not possible I'm from Peter Pan..." She stammered, Hook lowered his gaze and Jack Sparrow looked away. Jack took Coral's hand in his and slowly rubbed the back of her hand gently.
"Coral, your mother was a very powerful woman, very beautiful and very charming. Adelaide's mother was quite the opposite... not that she wasn't beautiful, her heart was dark. They both came to this school as well, back when we were all a little younger." Hook said, he glanced over at Jack Sparrow who folded his arms over his chest.
"Rothbart appeared back then also... he wanted your mother's powers, but she was stubborn. No one would get her powers. But we couldn't see the damage Rothbart was actually causing until it was too late." Jack Sparrow sighed, Coral and Jack Frost exchanged glances before looking over at Mickey.
"Adelaide's mother and your mother... their book was also hidden from them because of the darkness that followed, somehow Rothbart knew of their tale and Adelaide's mother began to delve into the dark magic that Rothbart used, until they both summoned her..."
"Eris." Clayton murmured, he glanced up and Mickey nodded. "She was evil. Pure evil. Chaos followed her and Adelaide's mother and Rothbart were gifted eternal powers. Our battle against their darkness raged on." He glanced at Eleanor, who sighed and folded her arms in front of her.
"Neither good nor bad was safe... if they opposed Adelaide's mother, Rothbart or Eris they were destroyed. Until one day, your mother stood up against them. Regal, elegant, and most of all powerful. She and her new friends stood up to them and saved everyone, but a price was made that day..." She said sadly, Hook and Jack Sparrow looked at one another before glancing away, Coral raised an eyebrow.
"Coral your mother, had you and died..." Minnie said, Coral glanced at her hand holding on tightly to Jack's.
"Adelaide was also born... her mother survived, but she no longer had her powers... and she married and she seemed to have lost her darkness." Mickey sighed and Coral stayed silent.
"But it would appear the darkness was transferred to your mother and to you." Pitch said, Jack glanced around at the teachers.
"Is there nothing we can do? To stop the darkness?" He asked, the teachers murmured softly to one another.
"We're not sure... but Coral... you must be careful. If Rothbart gets your powers, no one will have the power to stop him." Merlin said, Coral lowered her gaze and Mickey placed a hand on her shoulder causing her to look up at him.
"We believe in you child."
Jack Frost glanced around.
"But if you knew the story why did you let Adelaide come here?" Jack asked, the teachers frowned.
"We don't turn people away no matter who their parents are." The blue fairy said softly, Jafar snorted.
"And no one knows the full story of Adelaide and Coral." He said, Coral frowned and Jafar held up the book and opened it to different pages and there were blacked out sections.
"Does Rothbart know the story?"
"We believe so." Mickey answered, Coral glanced at her hand, she didn't realise she was trembling and holding on tightly to Jack's hand.
"I- what if I can't do this? The darkness is in me... I feel it growing." She said, she glanced around at the teachers before her eyes met with Jack's. Her heart beat quickened, she pursed her lips together before glancing away from Jack. "What do I do?"
"You will be okay Coral. You can stop your darkness, you're stopping it right now." Minnie said softly, Coral raised an eyebrow and Pitch waved his hand in annoyance.
"She doesn't see it." He muttered, Coral glanced at him and she felt Jack's fingers tighten on hers.
"What do you mean?"
"Think back Coral. Your darkness stops whenever you're with him." His eyes flickered to Jack before back to the pirate, "your sadness and conflicting feelings that you refuse to show are what's drawing the darkness that Rothbart has left with you. But every time Jack Frost appears you no longer have that." He explained, Coral's cheeks reddened along with Jack's and they both pulled their hands away from each other and looked away from each other. Hook rolled his eyes and placed his hand on his hip.
"I- I don't know what you're talking about." Jack stammered, Mickey, Minnie, Eleanor and the blue fairy smiled.
"Sh-shut up Pitch..." Coral stuttered, Pitch snorted and Jack Sparrow gave a small smile as Hook stepped forward placing his hook on Coral's shoulder. She tensed slightly and she glanced up at him.
"It's okay... Jack Frost is special to you." He said quietly, Coral let out a breath she didn't realise she'd been holding and she stared at Jack, who inhaled and glanced at her, they stayed silent, staring into each other's eyes before Jack smiled at her and Coral blushed and smiled back.
"Alright Mickey. What is the plan now?" Hook ordered, Mickey nodded and turned to the two students.
"You both must be careful. Don't do anything reckless. As for the rest of our students, they will be put on lock down. No one goes out of the school grounds, and we will widen our searches to find what Rothbart is up to." He said, everyone nodded. Coral and Jack stood up, and Coral turned to Mickey as Jack began to make his way towards the door.
"Please protect Adelaide too." She said, "Rothbart seemed more obsessed with her than he did with me." She said, the teachers nodded and Coral gave them a small nod before turning to Jack who held out his hand, she ran towards him and took his hand as he led the two of them outside and shut the door behind them. They faced each other and they both had a mischievous grin on their lips.
"We're gonna investigate ourselves right?" He mused, Coral nodded and pulled on Jack's hand.
"Yeah but I think we need someone else's help." She said, as he followed her lead.
"Really?" He said, she nodded.
"Hans."
"You have to be kidding me." Jack groaned, Coral giggled and nudged him lightly with her hip.
"Trust me. He's..." She stopped for a moment before looking up at Jack. "He's my friend and I'm positive he isn't working with Rothbart." She said, Jack sighed and ruffled her hair as they both headed towards Hans room.
"I hope you're right."
"Thank you Jack."
"Come on, let's find your weird friend." He laughed causing her to smile brightly.
