Chapter Twenty-Four

The next day, was a free day for the students to use for studying and extracurricular activities or in Adelaide's case to gain extra sleep. Adelaide felt a gentle shove on the arm causing her to roll over groaning loudly.
"Come on Adelaide, we've gotta get going this morning."
"Why?" She whined back at the intruder of her sleep, Kronk. The muscle-bound idiot rolled his eyes before he yanked back her duvet causing Adelaide to snap to attention. "What the hell!" Smiling he gave her a slice of toast from the tray of breakfast he had brought along.
"I thought you'd forget it was your assessment with the Heads today, you know... for making up for missed sessions."
The princess groaned around the toast in her mouth and quickly hopped out of her comfortable bed. She began to grab her clothes from the wardrobe before she turned to face Kronk.
"Hey Kronk, do you mind waiting outside while I get changed?" She asked, her cheeks reddening, Kronk stared at her blankly. Seconds turned to minutes before he finally understood.
"Oh outside, as in out the room. Gotcha." Smiling he walked out of the room humming to himself. Adelaide rolled her eyes before she went fishing through her wardrobe, she pulled out her black platform shoes, her golden skirt and black belt along with a purple off the shoulder long sleeved purple crop top. She pulled her hair back into a pony tail before applying her makeup. She opened her eyes and stared at her reflection, her black mascara, eyeliner and eye shadow making her eyes a little mystical. She shook her head and headed for the door with the books she needed before closing the door swiftly behind her.

"I'm telling you there was something weird with Facilier last night. Morning Coral." Hans said talking to Gaston, Coral nodded at him sleepily as she walked up to him.
"What that he's just unusual? Nothing more than normal." Gaston answered, Coral raised an eyebrow as Hans frowned in annoyance.
"No- I... why does no one believe me?!" He asked, Anastasia appeared next to the trio and smiled brightly.
"Because you're not really here." Anastasia teased as she wrapped an arm around Coral's shoulder before Gaston had the chance. They walked along the halls keeping to themselves for once, Gaston watched as Coral walked ahead with Anastasia walking closely next to her. Gaston frowned before his attention turned to Hans.
"What should I do about her?" Gaston muttered to Hans quietly.
"What? Why are you asking me? You know my track record with the fairer sex." Hans mused, staring ahead as the brunette. Gaston laughed loudly causing the students to look up at the imposing male before quickly returning to their own business. "In all honesty, Gaston just wait until the Magiball match this afternoon, she'll be back to her old self before you know it." Hans said sadly. The raven-haired male smiled brightly slapping Hans in the hollow of his back causing the smaller prince to stumble forward.
"You're right. A match against the good guys is just what she needs."

"Excuse me!" Adelaide yelled as she dodged through her friends and colleagues in the crowded corridors as they headed to the study hall or their activities.
"Ashidanza!" Naveen called out as Adelaide bumped into his shoulder.
"Sorry Naveen!" She waved back at the man before carrying onwards until she was stopped in her tracks by the Voodoo man.
"What's the rush princess?" He asked as he blocked her from trying to get around him.
"I have a meeting with Mickey and Minnie so can I get by please?" She said, her own body shuddering at the closeness of this male. She tried to get passed, her eyes watching him as Facilier lifted his hat and bowed moving to the side.
"Why of course my dear. Oh, and before you go..." He pulled a folded piece of paper from his coat pocket. "I found this by the back gate this morning." He said blankly, Adelaide took it from his grasp. Her heart thumping against her chest. "A secret admirer maybe?" He asked, the corner of his lips twitching, she shook her head her words failing her as she unfolded the paper.
'I know about your arrangement with your father dear Adelaide. I am upset you know I finally thought I had gotten through to you and you had started to accept me but no matter. I will have you one way or another.' Adelaide's hands began to shake her, breathing becoming rapid as his words sunk in.
"Nothing bad I hope?"
She jumped as Facilier placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Nope nothing wrong. I'll be off now." She stuffed the letter into her bag, and she staggered around him, Leaving Facilier to stare after her.
