Chapter 4: Even More Friends

Y/N was currently sitting on his sofa watching TV and figuring out what to do during the day. His mind wandered from place to place until he settled on visiting the Crystal Gems ... 'They shouldn't mind? They seemed to have enjoyed my visit so it couldn't hurt ...' He thought while getting dressed. 

He finished putting on a purple t-shirt and black jeans. He wasn't the most stylish but it'll have to do. After locking the front door, he made his way to the temple, to his relief he didn't feel like he was being watched like he was before.

The journey came to an end as he knocked on the front door, hoping someone would answer. To his relief someone did answer.

"Y/N, its nice to see you again." Garnet said stoic as ever.

Y/N smiled. "Is there any chance I could come in? Thought to just stop by and say hello." Garnet smiled and held the door open for him. The room was quiet, not that he minded. "Where's Pearl and Amethyst?" Y/N said sitting down on the sofa.

Garnet thought for a moment. "They've got things to do at Little Homeschool, but I can introduce you to some other gems you might like." Garnet said as she adjusted her visor.

"Sure, I'd be up for that. Who are we going to see?" Y/N said as he stood up and walked with Garnet to the warp pad. "Lapis, Peridot and Bismuth. You'll like them." She said as the warp pad lit up and sucked the two away from the temple.

"Woah ... this feels ... weird ..." Y/N said trying to steady himself.

Garnet just giggled as she put her hand on his shoulder to steady him which caused him to blush slightly. "Th-thank you." Y/N said. 

The warp stream soon ended and brought them to Little Homeschool, Y/N looked around in awe as he took in the sights. Garnet cleared her throat to bring his attention back to her. "You can explore more later, why don't we find the others?" she said.

"Can do." Y/N said with a smile, he was happy to be socialising with people ... er ... gems?

Garnet led Y/N towards a huge tower that resided in the centre of Little Homeschool. Garnet opened the doors which showed some sort of office with three gems sitting at the main table. 

"Hello you three, I have someone you would like to meet." Garnet said as she pushed Y/N forward slightly.

"H-hey, I'm ... Y/N." He said, still a bit nervous but not as much as he was when we met Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl.

The tall blue one spoke first. "Hey, I'm Lapis." She said with an uninterested face.

Then the small green one spoke. "Greeting Human, I am the great and lovable Peridot!" She exclaimed as she threw her hands in the air.

The last one, stood up and walked over to Y/N. "Hey there meat ball, its nice to meet a new human. The name's Bismuth." She said with enthusiasm.

"It's nice to meet you all." Y/N said with a smile on his face.  

"Peridot please, show Y/N around the place, I need to talk with Bismuth for a moment." Garnet said as Peridot groaned as she had to get off her tablet. "Come on human, let us venture off into Little Homeschool." Peridot says as she drags him away. Garnet watched on as Peridot took away a confused Y/N but before long she turns back to Bismuth. "Did you notice anything about him?" 

Bismuth just shrugs. "Nah not really, just looked like a normal human. Why?"

"Somethings different about him, I just can't put my finger on it." Garnet said going into deep thought. 'Maybe I should just ask him outright ...' She thought.

"Well he's new here isn't he? Why don't you just give him some time." Lapis said as she listened into the conversation. Garnet thought on this, 'there's no harm in waiting but I am interested in what makes him different ...'

Meanwhile, in another part of Little Homeschool, Peridot was currently showing Y/N the different parts of it. "And this is where all the gems live. It's perfectly organised so all the different gems have a place to call their own." Peridot said with glee.

"Seems a bit small doesn't it? I mean, what happens if more gems come from Homeworld that want to live here?" Y/N said with interest.

Peridot pondered a moment. "Then we shall expand in that direction!" She said as she pointed towards Y/N's home. "I live there ..." Y/N said as he felt a bit guilty for ruining her moment.

"Very well, we shall expand elsewhere ..." Peridot grumbled. Soon there was a since between the two. "So ... Y/N, how do you find our hospitality?" Peridot said.

"Its good, very welcoming but ... I'm surprised you guys even talk to us humans ..." Y/N said looking down to Peridot.

"Why's that?" Peridot said confused.

"Well, I mean, you guys do live a lot longer than us." Y/N said.

"Yeah, well that doesn't matter, here in Little Homeschool, everyone can be friends!"

Y/N just laughed at the little gems enthusiasm. "Come on, we should probably head back to the others." He smiled.

Peridot quickly nodded, though it was because she wanted her tablet again.

The two of them head back to where Garnet and the others had been. Once they found them, Peridot immediately lunged towards her tablet to make sure it was okay.

"It was nice meeting you all but I think I should get back home, thanks again for the tour Peridot." Y/N smiled as he was about to walk out the door but is stopped by a familiar hand. "Why don't you use the warp? There's a warp pad close to your house." Garnet said with a smile present on her face. Y/N thought for a moment. "Only if its okay with you!" Y/N said, returning Garnets smile with a smile of his own.

"Of course its okay, here follow me." She said to Y/N before looking towards Lapis, Peridot and Bismuth. "I'll be back soon." They just nodded in reply.

Garnet and Y/N walk over to the warp pad and step onto it, the light appear around them and takes them to the warp pad in the forest near to Y/N's house. Y/N turns to garnet with a smile. "Thanks Garnet! I'll be fine from now on, unless you wanna come in, I mean, Amethyst barged in but its up to you." Garnet simply nodded. "Lead the way."

Y/N gestures for Garnet to follow as he takes her back to his house, the conversation is light, it isn't awkward which is good. Once they get to his house, he opens the door and lets her in. "Do you want anything? Wait do gems even need to eat or drink?" Y/N said with confusion. "Nothing for me. Some gems eat but not many of them." Garnet said as she looked around the house.

'He styled it nicely, I'll give him that ...' garnet thought as she sat down on the sofa. Y/N soon sat down next to her and took a sip of water. "So Y/N, how do you like this place?" Garnet said as she lead backwards on the sofa. "I really like it, glad that I moved here ... to be honest, I never really had any friends back home so its nice to finally have some." Y/N said as he looked down at his cup. Garnet felt bad for him but decided to lighten his spirits. "You have plenty of friends now and you'll even get to make many more." She said with a smile plastering her face.

Y/N nodded and smiled back at Garnet. "I guess you're right and I'm glad that you're are." 

The conversation between the two of them continued on and before long they both said their goodbyes with both of them thinking 'that was nice ...'
