Chapter 26: Backstory

Garnet slowly awoke from the deep sleep she was in. Before, she wasn't a big fan of sleep but after getting together with Y/N, it is oddly comforting to sleep next to him. Speaking of the human, she looked down and saw him still fast asleep, the sun had already come up and by the looks of it, it was pretty late in the morning. She sighed, not wanting to get up or disturb her wonderful lovers' sleep but she had no choice.

"YY/NN." She said in a slight singing voice to calmly wake up her lover.

It did what it was supposed to and Y/N opened his eyes. "Oh ... hey Garnet ..." He said, yawning soon after.

Garnet giggled at how cute her lover looked when he was tired. "Hello, how did you sleep?" She said with a smile.

"I slept perfect! What about you?" He responded as he sat up, prompting Garnet to also sit up on the bed.

"I slept wonderfully. Is there anything you would like to do today?" Garnet asked as she shapeshifted her body back to normal since she had fallen asleep before she could do last night.

"Well ... first lets get breakfast!" Y/N said with a cheer. "Thennnnn we'll see what happens!" He added with a smile as he jumped out of bed to start his morning routine.

Garnet simply giggled at how excited her lover was. She headed downstairs to start the breakfast, she decided to make a few waffles, some for herself and for her lover. She timed it perfectly so that they were done and plated when Y/N came into the kitchen.

"They smell as delicious as ever!" Y/N said happily as he took the seat next to his beautiful girlfriend.

Garnet smiled as she watched her lover start eating the waffles she made for him and soon she too joined in and took a bite out of some waffles. The couple ate their breakfast with delight as the waffles filled them up, Garnet didn't need to eat but as she ate with Y/N, she felt their bond grow deeper. It didn't take them long to finish the food with Y/n taking both plates and setting them in the sink to wash later.

"Thanks Garnet! Those were really nice!" Y/N said with a wide smile as he hugged Garnet.

"You're welcome." Garnet replied as she tighten the hug between her and Y/N.

They stayed like that for a few minutes before Y/N got a text on his phone. "Sorry ..." He said as he left the embrace as looked down at his phone. Garnet watched him for a few minutes typing away  rapidly and eventually looking back up with a smile on his face.

"Good news?" She questioned as she rested her hands on her hips.

"Great! My mom and dad are coming over again for a couple hours, I was thinking we could take them round Beach City." He said as he pocketed his phone and smiled towards Garnet.

"That sounds lovely, when did will they be here?" Garnet asked with a smile.

"In a few hours, it takes them time to come down from ((Your Home Town))." Y/N responded as he quickly walked back up to Garnet and resumed their embrace.

Garnet chuckled as she returned the embrace once again with a smile on her face. They stayed like that for what seemed like hours but in reality it had only been 10 minutes, even though Y/n was embraced with his lover, he still had a question that he wanted to ask.

"Garnet ... can I ask you something?" Y/N asked with somewhat of a sad tone.

Garnet immediately noticed his tone. "Of course, what is it darling?" She responded with a warm tone to try and ease him.

"Are you ... happy with me?" He asked as he looked up at her in the embrace.

Garnet was completely shocked. "Wh-where did this come from?" She quickly asked as she looked down at her human lover.
