Chapter 16: Another Foe

This was one of the first times that Y/N was taking a class with Garnet. He wasn't teaching it completely, more of an assistant teacher. It didn't stop him though as he gave it his best shot, the class was on relationships and Y/N was talking to a group of gems about relationships and how to develop them.

"I always believed that openness in a relationship is one of the key building blocks." Y/N started as the group of gems he was talking to were looking at him with wide eyes. "If both sides are open with each other then any obstacle can be over come." He finished with a smile as the gems absorbed what he said.

Suddenly a Ruby with her gem on her leg said. "What else is important in a relationship?" She asked.

"Definitely trust. With someone you love, you must trust them not to hurt you and the same goes for them." Y/N responded.

The gems gave nods of understanding as Garnet came to dismiss the gems. "Alright gems, class dismissed." She said as she rested her hand on Y/N shoulder.

The gems dispersed from the class but not until the same Ruby with a gem on her leg spoke to Garnet. "He's really smart!" She complemented as she walked out the room.

Garnet chuckled as she watched the gems leave the room, soon only Y/N and Garnet remained as she sat down next to her lover. "The new gems seem to really like you." She said.

Y/N chuckled. "Is someone jealous?" He replied as he put his arm around her shoulders.

"No why would I be? In fact, it shows how lucky I am to have you if all these gems seem to like you ..." She responded with a chuckle as she pulled Y/N into her lap.

Y/N shifts a bit in her lap, wrapping his legs around her waste. "You're the lucky one?" He started as he pulled her shades off to look into her three eyes. "I don't think so ... I think I'm the lucky one to be with you." He finished as he started kissing at her neck.

"Y-Y/N, not here ..." She said as her lover stopped.

"Don't want to get caught do we?" He snickered as he climbed out of her lap.

Garnet chuckled as she stood up and held her hand up for Y/N to grab. "We can do that another time. Lets see what the others are doing." She smiled fazing her shades back on as Y/N took her hand and interlocked his fingers with hers.

"Yeah! Lets go!" Y/N cheered.

The couple headed out to find Amethyst and Pearl mainly because Bismuth, Lapis and Peridot were currently re-watching Camp Pinning Hearts again. It didn't take the couple long to find Amethyst and Pearl, they were talking at the centre of Little Homeschool.

"Hello you two." Garnet said as she and Y/N approached with interlocked hands, who also said "Hey Guys."

"Oh Garnet, Y/N. Its nice to see you." Pearl responded as she looked away from Amethyst.

"'Sup dudes, got any Spicy Stories?" She teased as she wiggled her eyebrows.

"Amethyst! Stop asking them that." Pearl said, annoyed how that was Amethyst's only question she asked them.

Y/N blushed slightly while Garnet stood there as stoic as usual. "What have you two been doing?" Garnet asked, ignoring Amethyst's question.

"Chilling, we've got no geminars today." Amethyst replied as she put her hands behind her head.

Before anyone could respond the warp pad chimed, revealing a familiar enemy who looked towards the four of them with an evil glare.

"Mwahahah! You three gems will tell me where Lars is so I can get my precious ship back or else." The tall green gem said as she pulled a sword out of her eye. The four of them just looked at each other but Pearl was the first to respond.

"We won't tell you anything Emerald!" Pearl said as she summoned her spear while Amethyst and Garnet summoned their weapons.

"Can't you just get over it? We're in Era 3 now. Do something better." Amethyst said as she readied her whip.

"I don't care about Era 3, I just want my ship back." She snapped as she also readied her weapon.

"Get ready gems." Is all Garnet said as she got into her fighting stance.

Y/N didn't react much, he wanted to see what would happen if this new gem started fighting. 

"Don't bother fighting back. It'll be useless." She said as she lunged towards the gems.

The three of them jumped out of the way in order to avoid her sword. Pearl was the first of the three gems to counter attack, her spear clashing with Emeralds own sword.

"Aren't you strong for a Pearl. Its a shame as you're not strong enough." Emerald said, before Pearl could react, Emeralds sword was slicing her in two.

"Pearl!" Garnet yelled, hoping it would save her but it was too late.

"I gotcha." Amethyst jumped in and saved Pearls gem from being damaged.

Amethyst placed Pearl on a nearby bench far from the battle, while Emerald shifted her sights elsewhere. 

"Now that pathetic Pearl is gone, lets get down to business." She started but before she attacked, she noticed the human standing near Garnet. "Why it that pathetic creature here? Maybe I should just put it out of its misery." Emerald said with a smirk as she prepared her sword.

"Leave him out of this!" Garnet demanded as Amethyst returned, standing next to Garnet with Y/N not far behind.

Emerald just shrugged and jumped past Garnet and Amethyst with speed they weren't expecting. Just as she was about to close in for the kill on Y/N, he ran towards her, dodging her sword and punching her in her chest. Once the hit connected she was thrown back to the warp pad.

"What the ... how can a human punch like that?!" She yelled as she started to get up.

"I'm strong ... I guess." Y/N said as he shrugged.

Emerald hissed at how strong he was for a human and decided it would be best to retreat for now.

"You win this round but I will be back, you can count on it!" She said as she stood up and jumped on the warp pad, warping away quickly.

The gems sighed and dissipated their weapons as they turned back to Y/N.

"Y/N THAT WAS AWESOME DUDE!" Amethyst yelled as she ran towards Y/N.

"Yeah ... I have been training a bit ..." He responded with another shrug. 

"Yeah but you're human! How did that punch not hurt you?" She asked as she was hyped with how strong he was.

"I dunno ... I was born differently is all ..." He said as he looked towards Garnet. 

"Amethyst, you get Pearl and take her back to the temple. I'll stay with Y/N."

Amethyst wanted to complain but instead gave in and took Pearl's gem, warping back to the temple. Garnet on the other hand walked towards Y/N and pulled him into a tight hug.

"Well done Y/N, you did really well. Your training is paying off it seems." Garnet commented as she tightened the hug.

"Thanks Garnet. It wasn't much of a fight though ... I just punched her." He said, finishing with a chuckle.

"You still did better then any other human would. She didn't expect it so she didn't know what to do." She said as she released Y/N from the hug.

"Thank you but ... why don't we get some lunch?" Y/N said as he smiled up at Garnet.

"I'd like that."
