Chapter 36: Something Entirely New

The next morning was quick to come by with Y/n sleeping soundly in his comfy bed. This didn't last for long as Y/n's eyes slowly opened to reveal the dark interior of his bedroom. He stretched and sat up on his bed, looking around to see if Ruby and sapphire were there. Sadly, they weren't but he could hear some commotion from the room next to his so his best bet was that they were still working on the bedroom even after he fell asleep.

Y/n quickly did his morning routine, ending it off with him getting dressed. With a smile on his face he opened his door and walked down the hall to the next bedroom door which was surprisingly open. 

"Good morning, Y/n." Sapphire said without even looking in his direction. Once she said this, Ruby snapped her head in his direction. "Oh! Hey Y/n! How'd you sleep?" She asked with a smile.

"I slept fine." He said with a smile, entering the room to see what they had done. "What have you guys been doing?" Y/n asked.

"Not much, mainly rearranging a few things." Ruby replied as he sat on the rocking chair Y/n had down stairs.

"We did bring up a few things from downstairs, as you can see." Sapphire added as she finished tidying the crib.

Y/n looked around the room, they hadn't taken much from downstairs. The main parts were the rocking chair and the extra pillows he had, it was fine as the room looked fantastic. "It looks great!" He said, walking next to Sapphire who was staring down at the crib.

"Me and Ruby were talking ..." Sapphire started, looking up to Y/n. "If its a girl her name should be Sophie ... if its a boy then it should be Ryder." She finished as she looked at Y/n, hoping they were fine names.

"I love them but who came up with them?" He asked with a smile as he rested his hand on Sapphire's shoulder.

"I came up with Sophie 'cause that was the name Sapphy used in a baseball game with other Rubies ... I liked it ..." Ruby admitted appearing next to Sapphire, shyly saying the last part. Sapphire cooed at her wife and kissed her cheek.

Ruby steamed up a bit after the kiss but she spoke. "A-and Sapphire came up with Ryder, she liked that name ... and so do I." 

The two smaller gems looked to Y/n to see if he truly liked them. "They're perfect, just like you two are." He said as he kneeled down and pulled them into a tight embrace. The two gems blushed but still giggled.

"So what're we doing today Y/n?" Ruby asked, still being hugged by Sapphire and Y/n.

"Welllll, we could just spend some time together? What do you two wanna do?" He asked,  getting more comfortable while embracing his lovers.

"We could spend the day at the temple, I see that Amethyst and Pearl are there." Sapphire suggested.

Y/n thought for a moment. "Yeah, I'd be up for that." He said with a smile.

"Ooh Yeah! We could go into Beach City again!" Ruby exclaimed as she pulled away from the hug.

Sapphire and Y/n nodded to their excited red lover. "Lets get going then!" Y/n laughed a bit before leading the to gems out of the room and down the stairs.

Y/n stopped before the front door. "Are you two ready?" He asked, figuring it couldn't hurt to ask.

The two small gems nodded and grabbed onto Y/n hands. Ruby on the left and Sapphire on the right, Sapphire opened the front door so the three of them could leave while Ruby close it behind them.
