Y/N had finished his morning routine and was getting himself ready for a get together happening at the temple. Steven was coming back for the first time in just under a year to see his friends and family, he wasn't going to be staying for long, only a few weeks until he was back on the road. Garnet said that she would come to pick up Y/N so he could use the warp pad with her, just as Y/N was finishing up he heard a knock at the door.

Smiling he went to open it. "Hey Garnet." He said as his eyes landed on her tall figure.

"Hello, shall we getting going?" Garnet asked as she raised her hand up so her could hold it.

"Yeah sure, lemme just lock up." He responded as he quickly locked the front door, once he did, he turned back around and took Garnet's hand in his own, interlocking his fingers with hers.

The two slowly walked towards the warp pad, taking in the beautiful scenery that surrounded them. "How many people are there?" Y/N asked as the couple edged closer to the warp pad.

"Eight, without including us." Garnet replied as they finally reached the warp pad. They stood on top of it and soon the familiar chime sounded which caused them to be taken away by the light.

As they travelled through the warp stream, Y/N looked up to Garnet. "Garnet ... do any of them even ... like me?" He asked, wondering what the answer would be.

Garnet was surprised by this question. "Of course they do, what makes you think they don't?" She asked, a small part of her feeling worried for her small human lover.

"Well ... I think they tolerate me for the most part I guess ..." Y/N said as he looked away from Garnet briefly.

"Y/N look at me." She said with a stern voice, once he heard this, he looked back at Garnet. "I'm sure they like you but they're more concerned with Steven. He's the only human any of them have really spoke to, so many of them tend to ignore any other humans." She said.

"That ... makes me feel somewhat better ..." He replied with a smile as he still looked up at Garnet.

Before the two could come together for a kiss, the warp stream suddenly ended, leaving them in the Beach house with eight people looking towards them.

"Garnet!" Steven yelled before anyone could say anything, running towards her and embracing her in a tight hug. "I'm so happy you came!" He said with a smile.

"You know I'd be here." She chuckled as she returned the hug.

Steven released Garnet from his embrace and looked towards Y/N, only just realising he was there. "Oh hi Y/N!" He simply said with a smile.

"Hey Steven." He replied with a smile of his own.

This time another person approached them as the others carried on with what they were doing. "Who's this Steven." A young girl said, gesturing to Y/N.

"Oh he's Y/N ... Garnet's ... boyfriend ..." Steven responded slowly.

"But wait, I thought that -" Before she could finish, Garnet put her hand up to stop her.

"Everyone thought the same thing but things change." She said with a smile.

The young girl nodded and raised her hand up to Y/N, offering him a handshake. "Hi, I'm Connie." She introduced herself with a smile.

Y/N kept his smile and shook her hand. "Nice to meet you." He said, not saying his name because Steven said it earlier.

The four of them moved over to where the rest of the gems were, Steven said he wanted to share some stories of what he did on the trip so far. Everyone was happy to listen, so they all got comfy and sat around him, waiting for him to start.
