Chapter 13: Meeting Steven

Y/N opened his weary eyes and looked around the room, Garnet was nowhere to be seen but that made sense as she told him the previous night that she had a geminar early in the morning so she couldn't stay. He rubbed his eyes and stood up out of bed, deciding to get ready nice and early to meet with Garnet at Little Homeschool.

It didn't take Y/N long to get ready, he picked out a simple white button up shirt with some black jeans and shoes. After finishing what breakfast he had, an idea came to mind.

"I should pick some nice flowers for Garnet on the way back!" he said with a smile on his face.

Y/N soon left his house, making sure to lock his door behind him and followed the very familiar road down the Little Homeschool. "Its a shame I can't use the warp pad." He said to himself as he continued to walk down the path, trying to find the best flowers for Garnet.

Fate would prove to be in his favour as he found some naturally growing roses. He carefully picked the best ones from the group and wrapped them up in some paper towels he had brought, figuring he could give them water when he gets there, he continues onward towards Little Homeschool.

It didn't take Y/N long for him to reach Little Homeschool with the roses in hand, he knew where Garnet was teaching as he often waiting for her to come out to walk home together.

Walking up to a familiar door he opened it to reveal a geminar in progress but no one was paying attention to him, walking around everyone he sat at the back of the class.

"Your body is made up of more than just light." Garnet started as she did a headstand. "It is the physical representation of ones soul." She finished as she returned to her normal position.

The others gems also returned to up right positions as they looked at Garnet. "Remember, its okay to focus on yourself once in a while. Class dismissed." She said as she smiled at the gems in her class.

Y/N saw his chance and once all the gems were dispersing out of the room, he walked towards Garnet and handed her the roses. "Hey Garnet, I got you some flowers!" He said as he held them up to her.

Garnet looked over the roses. "They're beautiful Y/N. Thank you." She said as she gave him a kiss on the forehead.

"I know, that's why I picked them! They remind me of you ~" He said, flirting with her.

"Oh stop ~" She responded as she waved her hand in front of her with a blush on her face.

After giving the roses another smell, Garnet soon realised something. "Y/N, would you like to meet Steven with me?" She asked as she held the roses close.

"I'd love too! When are we meeting him?" He asked with a smile.

"Well be meeting him soon, there's a warp pad that should take us to where he's staying." Garnet said as held out her hand for him to hold.

"What do you want to do in the mean time?" Y/N asked as he firmly held onto her hand.

"Why don't we find a place for these." Garnet said with a smile as the couple walked out of the room the geminar took place in and went back to the temple in order to find a good place for the roses.

The couple were currently walking away from the warp pad in the direction of the meet up spot with Steven, Y/N had a question on his mind. "So why do you all see him individually? Why not go together?" He asked.

"We all agreed to give him space and freedom, so we take it in turns to meet up with him so he isn't overwhelmed by all the people wanting to talk to him." Garnet said as the duo walked further in the same direction, a motel soon enough coming into view with a very familiar dondai.
