"Are you okay, Elena?"
"I'm fine. Are you okay? You just called me Elena, you only do that when you're worried." She takes your hand and gently rubs her thumb over your knuckles.
"I'm worried about you." She laughs.
"There's no need." The way speaks makes it seem like she's okay, but her eyes look so sad. "What's on your mind?" You try again, and she looks thoughtful for a moment, before turning to you.
"I'm thinking about what my life would have been like if I hadn't become an inhuman."
"Good or bad things?"
"Mostly bad, because I never would have met you," she smiles then. "But also good because I could have lived a normal life in Colombia."
"You always used to say it was a gift from Díos. What changed?" You feel her hand tense in yours, then relax again.
"Nothing changed. I'm here to help change things, to protect people. To save lives." You smile as you watch her talk, and you nod along.
"You definitely saved mine." You say, and she squeezes your hand. "I love you."
