"Hey Steve!" You walk into the ice cream shop, glancing at Robin before making eye contact with Steve.
"Hey, what's up?" You gesture with your hands.
"Can you come out here for a minute?" He swivels to face Robin, and she rolls her eyes before nodding.
"So... would you want to hang out sometime? Like as a- uh- date?" He bops his head with disbelief, a smile forming on his face. You hand him your number, all scrawled out on the nearest napkin you could find. He takes it in one hand.
"Oh," he says as he holds his hand up in a little phone shape. Through laughing, you respond. "Yeah- call me and I'll let you know what time." He smiles and folds it carefully before putting it in his pocket.
"Thanks, I'll- uh, I'll see you later." Nodding, you step out of the shop, walking through the mall, your spirits sufficiently lifted.
