You walk into Luke's, ready for your coffee, because it has already been a pretty rough morning. Your ex was harassing you on the way there, and you had finally gotten away from them. Sitting down at the counter, drooping, prompts Luke to raise an eyebrow at you.
"Oh, buzz off, I'm fine." "Are you sure?" You sigh-groan and bury your head on your arms.
"I'll take that as a no." Luke says finally, and heads back into the kitchen. After squinting your eyes shut for a good minute, you feel like looking up, and a boy your age walks up to the counter on the kitchen side.
"Hi." He says, and you smile a little.
"Hi."
"Uh... I'm Jess. Luke's nephew."
"I'm (y/n)." He nods, and rubs his neck.
"Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too." You say, a small smile starting to form on your face.
"Hey, you know, I'm almost always here, so I guess if you want to hang out sometime-"
"I'd love to." You say quickly, and he smiles.
"Great." Your small smile becomes a large one as you push the door open with your coffee.
"Bye, Jess!" You call as you leave, and he waves, hoping to see you again.
