"No, Merlin, seriously! They like you! I know you've told me that you think they're amazing, blah blah blah, and they think the same about you!" Merlin watches Gwaine, stonefaced as he rants, and then raises his eyebrows at him.
"Very funny."
"Ha ha, yes, should be to you, but I stuck my neck out there for you, so you should really be thankful that I even told you that."
"They can't like me. I'm not good enough." Gwaine grasps Merlin by the shoulders, and then just shakes him. Merlin finally shoves him off, and gestures wildly with his hands.
"What was that for??"
"You were being stupider than me, so I shook up your brain. You're welcome." Gwaine starts to walk out, and then pops his head back in the room.
"Oh, and they said to meet them by the edge of the forest this afternoon." Merlin drops the tray he was holding, and it rattles on the floor until it comes to a stop.
"What?" He whispers in disbelief, a little bit shocked but definitely excited.
