Madeline's POV
I took out the key to Freddy's and I unlocked the front doors. Once I got in, the animatronics looked at me from the stage. But I didn't look at them. The only person I want to see is Marionette.
"You ready for tonight? I sure am!" I called to them as I walked down to my office. I heard Toy Freddy mumble something under his breath. But I don't mind what he has to say about me.
Tonight, I wasn't winding Marionette's box. I think it'll be safer if he came to me than me coming to him. Even though I succeeded at it.
Once I got into my office, I almost dropped the music box in shock. There sitting in my chair was no other than Marionette with his arms over his head and leaning back. Once he saw me, he got out of his relaxed position and into a regular sitting one.
"Hello Madeline. Ready to start the night?" He asked me. How did he get out of his box?
"You look like you're more ready to start the night than I am. How did you get out of your box when it's locked?"
I asked as I put my backpack on the desk, I was hiding the music box behind my back so Marionette couldn't see.
"Do you really think my box is locked in the day? No. I have to give gifts somehow, even though I choose not to. So, before the clock hit 12 and my box locked, I got out and came here"
Alright, that explains my question. But it's also leading me to another question. Why doesn't he give gifts anymore? He has the title; The Gift Giving Puppet. Shouldn't the Gift Giving Puppet give gifts?
"Why don't you hand out presents anymore? That was your thing! Your role! You always said it meant something special to you." I blurted out, catching Marionette off guard.
"When you were gone, it's like someone took away my gift. And if I couldn't have my special gift...no one could. And they never will" he said strictly.
I put my hands on the desk with my back towards it. Then I lifted my self on it and turned to Marionette. Since someone is sitting in my spot, I have no where else to go.
"But I'm here now. So why don't you do it? Hey! I could help you with it! I could stay with you on the weekends so you wouldn't be al-"
"Do you really think Mr. Freddy is going to let me do that after the incident? Use common sense girl! He wouldn't!" Marionette barked at me. Then turned his face away from me, like he was expressing sorrow.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you like that. I've turned into a monster who lets out his anger whenever he pleases"
He thinks he's a monster. A heartless monster. And it's all because I left him...
That's going to change! I'm here now. I can't let him feel angry and sad anymore. He's lonely, but that's why I'm here.
"It's okay. But, why doesn't he trust you? What. Just because you didn't catch me. Why does Mr. Freddy think it's all your fault! It's not! It's mine! What does that idiot not see?" I shouted, letting my anger out too.
"Not that incident Madeline..." He said quietly and guilty.
"What?" I asked astonished and went closer of to Marionette who still didn't look at me.
"After you left that one day, I remembered you said two kids told you that you were a baby. So, these two kids came to Prize Corner. I cut the boy's cheek. But before I could cut the girls, the toys came in and forced me back into my box"
"Then at night, Mangle told Mr. Freddy about it. He doesn't trust me or them. Since the older models were out and Toy Freddy wasn't supposed to have them on. We all lost that night. But that's why we decided to kill guards, no one's taking our freedom away!"
