Part 16: Hunting and Investigating

     Mating season was in a couple of days so Jimin, Yoongi and Taehyung were out hunting, While Namjoon and Hobi were patrolling the borders for clues. Jin and Jungkook were preparing the pack house for the next two weeks. They made sure that each room had enough water and energy bars in case they didn't have time to go down and quickly make themselves something to eat.

     Jimin, Yoongi and Taehyung came back after a couple of hours with four dead deer and went straight to the back yard to skin and gut them. The sight of the dead deer made Jungkook sad but he knew that they needed to eat too. He said a silent party over the deer and resumed what he was doing in the Kitchen.

     After the men skinned and gutted the deer, they cut the meat up into big chunks and washed a huge amount of blood off it, then brought it inside for Jin to cut up into smaller pieces. Some were cut up into cubes for stew, while other pieces were sliced big enough to be a stake. Jungkook was putting the cut up meat into bags and setting them to the side to be put in the freezer later. For the steak sized meat, there were only two in a bag and for the cub sized meat it ranged anywhere from 20-50 pieces in a bag. If Jin had time he would make a couple of meals for the others during mating season, that's why there were 4 bags of meat that had 50 pieces.

     While the men outside were talking and joking around, Jin and Jungkook were having a conversation of their own about their mates.

"So, how is everything going with Jimin?" Jin asked as he sliced another piece of meat that the men had brought inside.

"Everything is going great between us! I honestly couldn't be more happier that Jimin is my mate! What about you? How is everything with you and Namjoon Hyung?" Jungkook asked as he tossed a piece of meat into a bag.

"We've been doing good. Right now I'm trying to convince him that we are ready for pups, but he keeps insisting that we are not ready." Jin said sadly as he cut another piece of meat.

"Don't worry Jin hyung! I'm sure that you will get the pups you want soon!" Jungkook said excitedly as he took another piece of meat and placed it in a bag.

"You really think so?" Jin looked up from the cutting board and looked at Jungkook.

"I do and you have my blessing for good luck!" Jungkook said as he looked at Jin with a smile on his face. Jin started to tear up at the boys words and tried to wipe the tears away.

"I hope your right Jungkook. It ould make me so happy to have pups of my own!" Jin said in a hopeful tone as he went back to cutting meat.

"I know you will!" Jungkook replied as he went back to putting the meat in the bags.

With Namjoon and Hobi

     Hobi had taken Namjoon to the place where he had found Jungkook on the hunting grounds. When he first found Jungkook he wasn't able to investigate the scene because he had to get Jungkook to the medical building to be saved. He has also been so busy with duties that he hadn't been able to think about investigating the incident until now, which he was thankful to Namjoon for wanting to investigate it. Hobi's power was plant life which is very helpful to the investigation because he was able to see their memories, feel their feelings and make them grow at will.

     When they arrived at where he found Jungkook he had quickly asked permission to see the memories they held and they granted it. Although he was able to hear them talk, he could feel their feelings which was enough for him to be able to communicate with them. Namjoon stood there silently observing the scene until Hobi looked up at him.

"Got anything?" Namjoon asked and Hobi nodded his head.

"To say the whole event was a massacre would be an understatement. There was blood everywhere and a lot of dead animals that had contributed to Jungkook's escape. As Jungkook said before, he did walk across the border without noticing the forcefield Jin has up and only noticed it when his old pack tried to come through. I could tell the pack members are indeed looking for something and they think Jungkook has it." Hobi said, looking at Namjoon.

"Any idea what they're looking for besides what Jin had told me what Jungkook thinks it is?" Namjoon asked as he looked at Hobi with a serious face.

"I don't know. All I know is that the plants were freaked out and were desperate to save Jungkook. That's probably why I didn't hesitate to bring him to the medical building. The plants were desperate to save him and I have a feeling it might have to do with the thing they are looking for." Hobi said, think about what it might be.

"I wonder though. Why would Jungkook think they were after the royal family's treasure and why they would think Jungkook would have it." Namjoon said out loud thinking to himself.

"Jungkook did say that they were on a witch hunt, literally killing tons of their own people to find this object. Since the object is so important for them to get their hands on and the royal family's treasure seems to be the one thing everyone is after right now, it makes sense to come to the conclusion that it's what they are looking for." Hobi said, contributing to the thought process.

"It still doesn't make sense why they would target him and think he has it." Namjoon said, now looking at the ground.

"Well, Jungkook also said that they had taken him in at a young age which is possibly another reason as to why they might possibly target him. They might think that he has a lead about another pack having it. He also ran away from them to our pack which would cause even more suspicion than what was already there." Hobi said as he connected the puzzle pieces together.

"Now that makes sense. I don't know why I didn't think of that sooner." Namjoon said with a huff of annoyance at himself.

"It's cause you have a lot on your plate at the moment." Hobi said, smiling at Namjoon sincerely.

"Your right, and Jin constantly begging for pups isn't helping." Namjoon said with a chuckle at the reminder of a pouty Jin begging for pups. The alpha really wanted pups but was unsure of how they would affect their relationship. It was hard enough finding time to spend with his mate and finding time to spend with his own pups would be harder which is why he has put off having pups for so long.

"Look, I know you're worried about not being able to spend time with your pups and ruining your relationship with Jin, but I think you should go for it. It would make Jin happy and I have a feeling that it will strengthen your bond with Jin more than you would think." Hobi said, smiling at Namjoon reassuringly.

"You really think so?" Namjoon asked unsure of what to think.

"I really do! You should really think about giving into Jin this mating season!" Hobi said, hopefully convincing Namjoon to create mini versions of himself and Jin.

"Okay, I think I might actually give in this mating season." Namjoon said with a shy smile on his face, while Hobi high fived himself for the win he created for Jin.

"Nice and since we're done investigating, we should go back to the pack house. It's getting late out and you know Jin will be pissed if we're late for dinner." Hobi said as he started to walk back to the pack house.

"Your right. Let's Just hope Jin is already pissed that were late coming home." Namjoon said with a nervous chuckle.
