A calming companion

You wake up again and remember the strange vision, then looking around to see that the food tray was not laying on the ground anymore, and Zhongli - where was he?
You turn around in bed and see Zhongli laying right next to you, sleeping peacefully.

"eEk?!" You internally shriek, why was he sleeping next to you?
You slowly try to get up and out of the bed

»Feeling better?«

»AHHG,,, uhh,,« you turn around to see him glaring right at you

»uhm y-yes I guess..« you stutter, not knowing what to say.

Zhongli gets up and sits down on your side of the bed, looking at you up and down, then suddenly grabbing your arm

»EHEH, What are you doing??«

»Calm down« he says, taking his hand off of you again.
»Alright, you seem to do really better than before« he says.

»what happened? I remember getting a flashback from something, and all of a sudden, the food tray was laying on the floor and you were a few meters away from me like I attacked you or something..?«

»Don't worry, I cleaned everything up, and if you question that, no, you didn't hurt me.«

"oof.. well at least something I didn't fuck up" you think to yourself.

»But still, I was shocked about the power you hold. When the vision of yours started, you suddenly screamed and cried, saying he.. shouldn't leave you?
Then you threw the food tray over with a strong wind current, that's why I defended myself« Zhongli says.

"well alright I fucked up anyway" you change your mind, facepalming your forehead.

»I'm really sorry, I don't know what has gotten into me.. I also don't know who the person in my vision was, and why I didn't want him to leave..«

»It's okay. You seem to have calmed down by now and do a lot better. Do you again want to try and take a short walk with me?« he says, sounding really polite.

»uhh.. yes, sure!« you finally say.

Zhongli takes you hand and you two leave the room and house.

»You still haven't told me your name« he then says.

»Ohh You're right!« you say, turning yourself to face him

»I'm y/n. Nice to meet you!«

He smiles back at you.
»alright, y/n, do you maybe want to go and get new clothing? Since your current one seems a little.. broken«

You look down on yourself. Your clothing really looked like you went to war.
»shi- eh I mean yes! Where can we go and look for something like that here in Liyue..?« you say awkwardly.

»let me guide you. I know a good place down the way, I'm sure you'll find something nice there« he says.
You agree and follow him through the harbour.

~Timeskip~

After a long day of exploring the city, getting new clothes and talking to Zhongli about everything, you two find a nice place with a bench, sitting down and looking over Liyue Harbour.

»So, tomorrow a new week starts again. I'll leave you then to go and do some business. I think by now you're strong enough to be fine on your own.« he says.

»But, but..« you don't know what to say. You suddenly feel so.. helpless.

»I don't even know what my goal is anymore, what am I supposed to do?« you ask him with a whiny voice.

»I think you should get back on a new track« he says. »there are a lot of people who need help here. Just ask around, I'm sure you'll find something to do«

»that's.. a good idea« you say, but not knowing what to do isn't your only problem.
You also really want to stay with Zhongli. You don't really know why, but since you woke up he's been your "guiding light". You somehow got the feeling that he can help you find what you've been looking for.

»A-and« you stutter, »w-what are you doing after work?«

»Well, I haven't thought about it yet.« he just plain answers.

»Do you maybe want to.. meet up again?«

»Why do you want that?« he asks

"Well I don't know Dad, why do I want that??" You annoyed think to yourself.

»Ugh.. just.. forget it« you mumble

»I'd gladly want to« he answers.

You abrupt start to blush a little bit, not expecting that answer.
»B-but you.. alright, I'll come visit you then after work!«

»Sure. See you then, y/n«

You run off, not even knowing where you're going to, but you didn't want it to get even more awkward.

After taking a short walk alone you finally find a nice place in the grass under a tree. "Arghhh, why was I blushing,, I just.. want him as a companion, nothing more." You tell yourself.

»And I don't even know where to go, I don't even know if I have a home....« you lay down in the grass. The weather was just right, so it wasn't a problem for you to sleep there on the spot, under the tree.

»I will find you again, whoever you are« you mumble, looking up at the sky
»I will find the answers to all of this. Please just wait for me.«

You doze off and fall into a deep sleep.
