A room for two

»Hmmm! This smells delicious!!« you say, nearly drooling on the counter of the Wanmin Restaurant.
A young lady with short, dark blue hair and yellow/brown clothing notices you two. She dries off her hands from washing and cutting fresh Jueyun Chili, then steps forward with a bright smile on her face.

»Hello! I'm Xiangling, what may you two order?« she introduces herself.

»Uhm, wh-«
»Hey, wait a minute.. aren't you.. the traveler?« she says, looking directly at you

»What?? You know me?!« you look back at her in shook

»Yes! We cooked together for a competition in Springvale! We won! Don't you remember?«

You first don't know what to say.
»I.. uhh.. I don't know how to say that, I-«

»She lost her memories due to-«

You try to reach Zhonglis mouth and shut it before he tells everyone what crazy thing happened to you.
»SHUT« you glare at him.

»you lost your memories? Did you fall down during gliding and hit your head?« She starts laughing. »Well it's not that big of a deal, you'll remember everything soon enough if you eat something of my delicious new meals!! So, what shall it be?«

"phew.." you internally relax.

»Well, what do you have as a special meal today miss Xiangling?« You smile back.

»Ohhh I can recommend you something tasty like our golden shrimp balls!! We just found new flavoring which perfectly fits to them, or maybe something sweet like tea break pancakes!«

»We'll take both« Zhongli says.

»what- we don't have to get both??«

»yes we will.« so, how much is this going to be?

"ughhhh this MAN" you just think to yourself, quietly raging over the fact that he's not able to save a cent. Sooner or later you probably have to pay it back for him, that's why it's bothering you so much.

»Okay! To eat here or to go?«
»To go please«
»Aaaalright! Gouba! Chef Mao! One plate of golden shrimp balls with our new ingredients and one plate of tea break pancakes it is for our special customers!«

As they all start making the dishes, you furiously look at Zhongli.

»We have to talk about some things when we're back in the hostel!«

Zhongli doesn't understand why you're being so mad. He only answers with a plain »sure« which makes you even more angry.

»Your orders are done! Enjoy them!« Xiangling shouts after some time.
»And hey, y/n, let's cook again together soon, okay?« she winks at you.

»Yeah sure!« you smile back.

You two take the order and head back to the hostel.

Zhongli didn't seemed really talkative during the walk back, but so were you.
As you two arrive and step inside, Zhongli clears his throat.
»We'd like a room for two, please.«

You totally forgot you two were about to be in the same room now.
You shriek and turn red, slight embarrassment showing in your face.

»Is there something wrong, ma-am?« The man from the counter asks before handing Zhongli the keys to a room.

»Oh e-ehr, n-no.«

The man looks at you with a weird face. You then quickly follow Zhongli who was already on his way to the room.

As you two enter, you examine the room: it was one big room and one small room connected to each other - then, your worst nightmare appeared to be there. There was only one big sized bed in the room. The other room was probably the shower/toilet.
You knew what that meant.

You tried not to think about all of the things happening right now, so you just sit down at the table which was standing on the other side of the room. Zhongli places the food on the table and walks towards the sink to brew some tea for you two.

He still seemed so calm. "He's still not wondering why I am so mad?!? What is with him??" You think to yourself
As you were growling internally, you hear him clearing his throat again, expecting an apology or something.
»which tea do you prefer? Herbal te-«

You suddenly jump up and walk with a good amount of speed in his direction
You grab his arm and turn him around to face you.

»HOW DON'T YOU FEEL BAD OR ANYTHING FOR MAKING ME FEEL AWKWARD AND UNCOMFORTABLE SIR I-«

You grab him by his collar to bring his face down to face yours.

»YOU KNOW THAT I ALREADY FEEL BAD FOR HAVING SUCH A CRACKED OUT THING HAPPEN TO ME, WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT TO PEOPLE IN PUBLIC?!?!«

You look him into his eyes.

»AND ON TOP OF THAT, I HAVE TO PAY YOU ALL OF THIS BACK SOMEHOW, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO THAT IF YOU BLINDLY BUY EVERYTHING YOU SEE?!!«

Out of breathe you look at him, trying to realize what you just did. You start to feel dizzy, You know he could throw you out any minute and never talk to you again.

You walk a few steps away from him and fall to the ground, crying. You don't know what you're doing.
You don't know why all of this is happening.

Zhongli steps forward and kneels down in front of you.
»I... y/n... I am deeply sorry« he says.

He places his hand on your cheek and wipes away your tears.

»I didn't mean to do that. I.. can't really sense well how a person feels. I didn't know you still are so.. hurt by it, but I totally understand that. But still, that's not an excuse for what I did.«

»I-it's fine..« you sniff
»I just.. I don't have anyone. I don't know where I came from, I don't know what my goal is. People might get weirded out by me knowing my stupid past, I'll probably never find friends again - The only person who listens to me right now are you, but, who knows for how long if I keep overacting. I'm just a mess, and, and-«

You cry even more now.
Zhongli then suddenly wraps his arms around you.

»I remember that you often comfort people by hugging them. I never really understood it, but now..«

He hugs you a little tighter.

»..I can feel it too.« he only mumbles quietly.

He let's go of you and looks you into your eyes.

»but something I can promise you is that I won't leave. I can handle your emotions, you're not "cracked out" to me as you always say.«

»t-thank you..« you quietly say with a soft blush in your face.

»Now, calm down first of all. We'll sort things out more later. You need to eat something first - you don't seem really stable. Shall we?«
