Ada

Her Mom lay there, unmoving, head lolled to the side, blood trickling down her temple.

Ada rushed to her side, shaking her shoulder. "Mom please wake up. Oh God, I m so sorry..."

"She'll be fine. Stop fussing." Father said, trying to sound confident, but Ada could hear the fear, and regret in his voice.

She whipped around, burning with rage. "Don't fuss? You just knocked your wife unconscious. How can you be so heartless?"

"The things that would happen to us if I'm not, are much worse."

Ada brushed her Mom's blond hair out of her bloody face. She was back to being scared of her Father. "You're sick." Ada shouted at him, voice shaking. "she'll never forgive you for this. You've lost us. All of us."

"All thanks to your childish behaviour." He grabbed her arm, yanking her to her feet. "I've wasted enough energy putting up with your temper tantrums. Time to try another method."

Ada kicked him as hard as she could, but he only groaned. "You're only making this harder for yourself."

"I hate you." Ada spat in his face. "I wish one of those hunters you're so afraid of kills you."

He tightened his hold on her arm. "You really don't want that Ada..."

"I do. Anything's better than this. Better than you. You hurt Mom. You hurt all of us."

"And I'm really sorry for that..."

"That's not enough." She spat in his face, then brought her knee up, and jammed it between his legs.

Ada wanted him dead. She truly wanted him dead.

He shouted in pain, and let her go, falling on the floor, he grabbed his crotch.

"Serves you right." Ada raised her boot to kick him again.

this time he was somewhat ready. Grabbing Ada's leg with one hand, he pulled her down. They ended up rolling on the hard muzaik, a tangle of shouts, curses, arms, and legs.

"Belive it or not, I'm doing this for you. I love you. I care about your future." Father said as he dodged a kick from Ada aimed at his temple.

She punched him in the nose and smiled as blood gushed out. "I don't." She punched him again and again and again, her hand getting wet with his blood.

"Hit me all you want but don't turn your back on me Ada. I'm the very last thing standing between you and what's out there..." Father said while lying on the floor, bloody, and bruised, staring up at her with pleading eyes.

She kicked him in the ribs. "I rather face what's out there than be locked up in this damn house with you for even one more day."

He dubbled over, clutching his chest. "You don't know what you're talking about..."

Ada kicked him again, releasing one year worth of pent up rage and hate. "I know exactly what I'm talking about. I'm going to kill you and then I'm going to take Mom and Nora and get the hell out of this town..."

"I can't let you do that." He proped himself up on one elbow, wincing.

He looked awful with his broken nose and bloody lips. His clothe were torn in places, bloody in others. Father didn't look pleased with what he'd created.

"I'll do whatever I want. I'm done taking orders from you." Ada wiped blood off her nose.

She felt good.
She felt alive.

"Then I'm sorry."

"You should be..."

Someone broke her neck from behind.
