Ada

"Holly shit." Ada whispered.

"That's definitely not who I was expecting." James agreed. He turned to his brother. "what do you think we should do? It could be an illusion or someone sent by Ada's father. It could be anyone..."

"I'm not sure." Jack murmured.

James rose a questioning eyebrow at Ada.

"I don't know. Could be a trap... I don't know..."

The doorbell rang again. "I can here you, you know. It's really me Ada. Remember that one time in freshmen year when I kissed you in that lame ass party and we ended up in someone else's room because we were too drunk to find our own?"

There was a short pause, and then. "And Jack, do you remember that night in Greece when we stumbled into my motel room, and you were so tired you practically passed out on my bed, but you made it up to me in the morning. You were wearing that cute boxers with tiny pumpkins?"

"Yeah I remember." Jack pretty much yelled, looking uncomfortable.

"It's definitely her." Ada told them.

Jack nodded in agreement.

"And that time we made out on Mrs clark's desk because she was a homophobe and we hated her. You were wearing that green bra I'd given you for valentine's day, and you weren't wearing any pan..."

"Maggie, we believe you. you don't need to say anything else." Ada cut her off. "Let her in." She told James.

He obliged.

Maggie entered the cabin with a radiant smile, blue eyes glowing. "Thank you." She akonowledged James with a nod.

Tall, with chin length black hair that used to be long, she was as gorgeous as Ada remembered. Ada's heart clenched with a soul crushing sense of longing.

Maggie opened her arms as she took in Jack. "Hey handsome." She hugged him.

He patted her back awkwardly. "Hey."

Maggie drew back and came towards Ada. She stood there, hesitent. Dying to reach out.

Maggie touched Ada's cheek. "I missed you the most Brooks."

Ada choked on a sob and crushed Maggie in a rib shattering hug. She smelled of stars.

"I'm here Ada. I'm here."

"I'm sorry to interrupt your reunion but how did you find my house?" James asked crisply.

Ada reluctantly drew back from Maggie. She could feel the pain of it in her bones. She could see it reflected in Maggie's eyes. Maggie turned to James, looking a little murderous.

Ada clread her throat. "I think it's better if we continue this conversation over drinks."

"Yeah." Jack welcomed the idea. "You need any..."

"No, thanks." She ran to the kitchen.

Leaning her head against one of the cabinets, Ada tried to pull herself together. Maggie belonged to her past. Ada had to make sure she stayed there.

It didn't matter that Ada wanted to follow her every move like a hawk, to make sure she wouldn't disapear on her again. And it certenly didn't matter that her hands and lips were itching to touch Maggie's skin again.

James had helped Ada. Given her hope. She couldn't leave him for someone who didn't even bother to let Ada know she was alive.

Ada felt a hand on the small of her back. "I'm here for you. No matter what." James whispered.

Ada turned around and caressed his cheek. "James..."

He kissed her cheek. "Later." Then put four glasses on a tray, and took out a bottle of brandy from one of the lower cabinets.

"We need to talk about this."

"Later." He repeated and gave her a little smile that only intensified her guilt.
