Following the battle against Misty, Max and Bonnie exit Cerulean City to decide their next destination
"Alright now that we're done with Cerulean City what's next?" Bonnie said as Max took out his phone to look at the map
"We can either go through Rock Tunnel to go to Lavender town which it's known for its ghost types no gym though and use that to go to Saffron that has a gym," Max said "Or straight to Saffron City but just a little less eventful"
"Something tells me you want to go straight to the gym," Bonnie said
"Kind of," Max said
"It's fine I do want to get my next gym battle out the way," Bonnie said "So south it is!"
"Yeah, I do want to get some training in before that," Max said as Bonnie nodded in agreement as for both of them Misty was too tough to be comfortable with "Need to put some more time in with Nidoran and Poliwag"
"I need to train too but I really want to catch a new Pokémon," Bonnie said
The pair headed south of Cerulean City to make their way to Saffron City "I think this route has some nice Pokémon" Max said checking the app on his phone
"What kind?" Bonnie said looking at his phone
"There's the normal Pidgey's and Rattata's but I also see some-" Max was saying as Bonnie looks elsewhere
"Pokeball go!" Bonnie said throwing a Pokeball at a flying Pokémon
"Wait you're supposed to battle it first," Max said as the ball went up to the Pokémon and the Pokémon slapped the ball back into Bonnie's face
"Ow! Who's that rude Pokémon?" Bonnie asked rubbing her face
"It's a Crobat and she's mine thief," a voice said
"Who said that?!" Max said as they tried to find the person behind the voice
"Behind you," a girl said as the two turned shocked

"Whoa, are you a ninja?!" Bonnie said based on the sudden appearance and clothing
"You could say that," she said ready for battle by holding up a Pokeball "Now let me teach you a lesson for trying to steal someone's Pokémon"
"Wait wait! I didn't know! We were talking about catching Pokémon and I saw your cool Crobat and got excited and-"
"Likely story," she said
"I'll battle you," Max said stepping up "If it'll get you to listen to reason"
"No I can battle her myself," Bonnie said not wanting to be rescued "Wait we don't need to battle we can just-"
"I'll take you both on," the girl said holding two Pokeballs now
