Against a Young Fossil: Bonnie's First Gym Battle

Route 2 exciting Viridian Forest almost to Pewter City

"Okay Viridian Forest seemed longer than I remembered," Max said

"Well I thought it was amazing," Bonnie said

"Not what you said in there," Max said

"What? I had a great time!" Bonnie declared

"You're just saying that because you caught a new Pokemon," Max said

"So did you!" Bonnie said

"Let's just get something to eat," Max said grabbing her by the wrist and headed to the Pokemon Center

"O-Ok!" Bonnie said noticing they were close to holding hands

Viridian Forest led directly to Pewter City so it didn't take long for them to be in the city and find a Pokemon Center

They made their way inside, Bonnie dropped all her Pokemon off as she was the only one who did any battling as Max was too strong at this point for beginners but he dropped of Nidoran and they made their way to the food section and proceeded to eat

"So you have a sister named May," Bonnie said, "Is she pretty?"

"Uh I guess," Max said not knowing how to view his sister in that way "There was someone that used to always crush on her"

"Was it Ash?" Bonnie asked

"No just a green-haired rival," Max said,

"Hmm," Bonnie said hoping to hear a potential lovey-dovey Ash story

"Why did you ask me about my sister?" Max asked as that was out of nowhere

"Because I have a brother so it's something we have in common that we don't talk about," Bonnie said "How old is she?"

"She's 14," Max said

"So is Clemont!" Bonnie said cheering about the equal ages "I've been trying to find him a wife for years now! But no luck, he needs to get out more!"

"It's way too early to start thinking about marriage," Max said

"Keep talking like that and you'll never get married," Bonnie said pointing her fork at him

"Whatever, anyways there's a gym in this city so I'm gonna challenge it after the Pokemon are done here," Max said

"I will too!" Bonnie said

"Oh no this is the first gym it's way too strong for you," Max said "It's a Rock-type gym you're at a complete disadvantage"

"Does it matter?" Bonnie said getting up to head for her Pokemon "A battle is a battle"

"Stubborn" Max said as he went on his phone for any updates on stuff going on in the world

"Let's go!" Bonnie said with her Pokeballs on her "Thank you, Nurse Joy"

"Alright," Max said getting up grabbing his as well "Thanks Nurse Joy"

"No problem come back again!" Nurse Joy said as the two left the Pokemon Center

"So Max why don't you do what Ash does and do a reset on the Pokémon he has?" Bonnie said

"I don't know I never really considered it," Max said "After Hoenn, I went straight to Sinnoh and I just started to rotate them out"

"Well you have this newly caught Nidoran are you going to just have it chill as you use all your super-strong Pokémon or are you going to start from number one like me?" Bonnie asked
