Bonnie and Max walk into the gym to see Misty waiting in her gym leader spot
"Who's first?" Misty asked the pair
"I am," Bonnie said standing in the challengers spot
"Saving the best for last" Max said as he made his way over to the bleachers to spectate as Bonnie blew a raspberry at him
"Alright Bonnie this will be a 3 on 3 match, this is on a water battlefield so it's mostly covered in water with floating platforms for Pokémon that aren't inclined to swim, you may switch your Pokémon at any time, I'll send my Pokémon out first any questions?" Misty said being thorough with the rules
"Got it! I'm ready!" Bonnie said reaching for her Pokeball
"Ok well let's get started!" Misty said holding a Lure Ball
"A Lure Ball?" Max said noticing the different ball as he let Kirlia out to watch "Must be special if she used one on this one"
"Go! Croconaw!" Misty said releasing the Pokémon
"Croconaw!" The dancing Croconaw said

"A Croconaw?" Bonnie said getting her phone out to see Croconaw's Pokédex entry "Watch out for its jaw"
"Wait!" Max said as he connected the dots
"That's right this guy is Ash's Totodile that evolved," Misty said shocking the other two "Ash and me at one point both wanted Totodile way back but Ash won so recently he let me train Croconaw and let me use him as a gym Pokémon"
"Was this when Ash visited?" Bonnie asked
"No, I've had Croconaw for about a year now it's actually getting close to the time I need to give him back," Misty said as Ash told her to keep up the training
"Wow starting the battle off rough with Ash's Pokémon, but hey that's what the second gym is for to test if the trainer should continue once things get more difficult" Max commented
"Well might as well take advantage of the opportunity," Bonnie said "Go Eevee!"
"Battle begin!" Misty's sister Lily said being the referee
"Bite!" Misty said as Croconaw lunged at Eevee
"Sand attack on the water," Bonnie said as Eevee kicked into the water as if it was the ground and the water splashed into Croconaw's eyes making Croconaw stop and as it was temporary blinded
