"Alright Nidorino show me your progress on Stomping Tantrum," Max said as Nidorino nodded, it started to stomp its feet repeatedly as it started to send some of the ground towards the tree causing it to damage it greatly "Great! We can definitely use this in the gym coming up"

"Nido!"

"Alright Gallade use Drain Punch," Max said as Gallade made a punch towards the tree and it made contact but no effect "Still nothing..."

"Come on why don't you practice with me?!" Bonnie said as she was watching him practice sipping on her water "A battle will make it come out in sure of it"

"Uh no thanks we prefer actually learning the move before using it in a battle," Max said as he and Gallade focused back on the tree "Alright Drain Punch again"

"Jerk" Bonnie said as she looked at her phone

"Why aren't you training?" Max asked, "The city is close, Do you think you're ready?"

"Well I beat you last time so I thought I should let you catch up," Bonnie said as Max rolled his eyes

"Alright stay well rested your greatness, I'll keep training to catch up to you," Max said oozing his sarcasm

"Good, wonder what Ash is doing?" Bonnie said missing the sarcasm

With Ash

"Pika Pikachu!"

"I know you want to battle buddy, but you just battle those twins you can't be that eag-"

"Wait are you?" a new voice said

"Huh?" Ash said as he and Pikachu turned towards the voice that was amongst the trees "We didn't hear you until you said something what are you some ninja?"

"Yes, I am Janine the gym leader of the Fuschia City Gym, you defeated my father Koga years ago I will-"

"Please don't tell me this about revenge, I was 10," Ash said more to him, and Pikachu

"Ask you to help train me," Janine said as she bowed in front of Ash

Back with Max and Bonnie

They elected to stop the training for the day and decided to keep walking toward Vermillion City

"Any progress on Drain Punch?" Bonnie asked

"No strange it's not the strongest fighting move so I didn't think it would give us trouble," Max said

"Well it's still a change Kirlia battled completely differently from Gallade it's not the most natural evolution," Bonnie said "There's going to be a lot of adjustment"

"I don't like when you talk smarter than me," Max said as Bonnie giggled

"Hey just because you traveled longer doesn't mean I knew nothing, I beat you last time," Bonnie said

"Oh, that contest battle does not have any reflection of -"
