After that introduction to Shadow Pokémon, the trio of Bonnie, Max, and Ash continued on their way to Celadon City so that Bonnie and Max can take on their third gym battle
"Alright here should be good," Ash said as he stopped making Bonnie and Max stop as well
"Here?" Max said looking at his map to see if there was anything special here
"We're more than halfway to Celadon City, so I think this is a good spot to set up camp so we can eat and then focus on training for a few days" Ash explained
"So when we're done we will be ready as soon as we get to Celadon," Max said understanding Ash's thought process
"Ok so set up camp and I'll cook," Ash said
"Gotcha," Bonnie said as Max nodded
Then they both took a second to realize "You're cooking?!" They both said
"Why are you so surprised?" Ash said as he got his cooking supplies out
"This I got to see," Bonnie said as she rushed to set up camp
"Something tells me you lost a bet or something," Max said as he sets up camp at a regular pace
"Remember how I traveled with you and your sister before Brock joined," Ash said as Max nodded "Well May said to make up for that I have to cook this time around when we were traveling together again"
"That's my sister for ya, loves food but will never learn to cook it," Max said shaking his head at his sister's antics
It didn't take long for the kids to set up the tents, table, and such and in the process, they let out their Pokémon so they can get ready to eat as well
And just in time, Ash was almost done cooking
"This is going to be the first time I try Ash Ketchum's cooking," Max said as they watched Ash stir the pot
"Don't get your hopes up, I'm no Brock or Clemont" Ash said "I learned a few things naturally from being around so many cooks, and then I had to force myself to make a few things when I was traveling alone"
"This is curry right?" Bonnie said recognizing the smell "Max made one before"
"Yeah, Galar's specialty is curry so when I was training in the wild area, I met some people that taught me the recipe, I can't do all the fancy meals that Galar is known for but I can do this" Ash said as he grabbed a plate with rice on it and poured the curry on it

"It actually smells good," Max said as he and Bonnie got their plates
"And for the Pokémon, I just have some store-bought Pokémon food, I haven't mastered my own recipe like Brock," Ash said as he poured the food into multiple bowls for the Pokémon to eat who were all more than delighted to chow down
