Thomas felt bad for Newt, he had lost his memories, then himself. And now, the person they both cared most about. Thomas thought back to earlier on, when he met Vince in the woods. He knew there was nothing he could do to help him. He made his way back to his room and took a look out of the small glass window, all he could see was the vast scorch landscape with broken buildings and structures. He also saw a group of people, huddled by a large rock. There were wckd soldiers walking towards them, these people must have been Cranks. They all stood up and started running towards the guards who quickly began shooting them down. Their clothes were ripped and torn, there were bald patches on their heads, coughing up black blood with black and purple veins. The people had gone insane, there was nothing they could do for them. They shot one with a Launcher, grabbed it by its arms and pulled it towards the base.

He presumed it must be for testing or a test subject or something. Wckd was ruthless, they didn't care about anyone but themselves. Suddenly an alarm started blaring, Thomas's door slammed shut and he heard bolts locking. He ran over to his door and looked out the slightly dusted window or something. He heard shouting, especially coming from one man. Janson, "Cranks! Everyone get in position! We are under attack! Get the non-immune into a safe environment now!" he was talking about Winston.
Chuck looked at Thomas, he didn't even realise he was sitting in there. "Thomas? What's going on?" Thomas gave him a small smile, "Nothing Chuckie, don't worry. We're all oka-" Thomas jumped back from the door as he saw a Crank banging on the door.

"Let me in! Please! I won't hurt you kiddos!" The zombie like woman said, "I promise, I won't hur-" the woman fell to the ground. She saw Teresa standing behind her holding a gun. Teresa scanned a keycard and ran into the room and slammed the door closed, "Oh thank God you're okay Tom! I was worried sick, where were you?" Thomas couldn't say he was talking to Vince, "I was.. uh just going for my walk. I got back and the door slammed shut and bolted." Teresa sighed, "Tom you'll have to be more careful!" She said in an annoyed voice, "I can't lose you."

Thomas smiled and sat on his bed and continued reading the book that he had re-read twice. Trying to not focus on what was going on outside of the doors.
