chapter thirty five: awake

Chuck had officially been in the Glade for two whole weeks. He was given the job as a Slopper, doing a combination of different jobs like cleaning up the Slaughter House or the animals klunk'. Newt still sat with Y/n, somehow looking at her s/c face never got boring. Newt was happy most of the bruises on her face had disappeared, there were still cuts all over the girl. Every once in a while they had to clean the stab wounds on her stomach and her arm,just so they didn't get infected. Newt never really left her side, only for maximum two hours a day and to sleep. The Med-Hut was right beside the Homestead so he knew she was safe.

~*Thomas's Pov*~
Thomas continued to check up on Y/n every once in a while. After all him and Newt cared about her deeply, Ava Paige stood in the centre of the Comms Room checking up on everyone, then Janson as his dramatic self burst through the door. "Someone else! Someone else has been giving information to The Right Arm!" he said looking at Thomas, "And I know exactly who it is." Thomas felt a lump in his throat, this was it. They're gonna kill him. "Well, Janson? Who?" Ava Paige said angrily to Janson. "Thomas." Guards ran over to Thomas and pulled him out of his seat, "Bring him to the holding room." Ava said sadly. Like she had said, she trusted Thomas. She trusted Y/n and they both betrayed her. Thomas was shouting at the Guards, "Get the hell off of me man!" struggling against the strong grip of the two men. They got the the same room that they were in a year ago, when Y/n was brought into the Maze. The guard pulled out a similar pair of cuffs and cuffed him onto the desk.

Ava slowly came into the room with some tears in her eyes, "Why, Thomas? I trusted you, more than anyone." Thomas rolled his eyes, "Y/n helped me realise that Wicked is nothing but evil! You torture innocent kids! Think about Y/n right now! What she has gone through inside of that maze! She's been unconscious for over a month and you don't even care!" Janson was standing in the doorframe, "So Ms. Paige, what are you planning to do with him?" he asked with a smirk, Ava thought for a moment as a tear fell, "We will sedate him, then when a new subject is to come into the maze, we will perform The Swipe." Thomas didn't react, it would probably be better for him. He'd get to be with Y/n. Even though they won't remember eachother. A Doctor came through the door holding a tray with a green syringe, he walked over to Thomas and simply put it in his neck. Thomas and Ava exchanged one last longing look before Thomas's eyes closed.

~*Newt's Pov*~
Newt was sitting beside Y/n before Chuck came running and told Newt it was time for food. Newt picked up Y/n's limp hand and kissed it softly before walking towards the door. Suddenly Y/n jerked awake and took a huge breath in, Newt turned around and ran towards the girl, "Y/n?! Oh my god! You're awake! Alby! Get in here now!" She heard stomping then Alby popped up in the door frame, "Oh my god! Y/n! Med-Jacks!" Y/n was drenched in sweat and her entire body ached, it was really difficult to breathe. "Hey, Love it's okay! Calm down, you're okay.." Newt said in a calm voice with tears in his eyes, "You're okay.."
